Types of Sports Mounts There are two types of sports mounts: the traditional sports mount and the newer digital mounts. Both are used to enhance the pictures and help the photographer justify their pricing.

Sports packaging is not disposable, it is used to create a lasting memento. Parents save the pictures in the mount and put them away for safe keeping.

Traditional SP ORTS

Traditional mounts hold dual prints. Standard size traditional sports mounts are 7x5/3½x5-4x5, 7x5/5x7, and 10x8/5x7. Larger traditional sports mounts are used by photographers to increase the overall profitability of a package. Digital mounts add the finishing touch to a graphically enhanced 8x10 or 10x13 digital memory mate.

The hand off – a studios final chance to make a good impression The delivery of your sports packages can often be the difference between keeping and losing a league. This isn’t how the studio “packages” their pictures this is the actual “delivery” of the finished product. Sports leagues are run by volunteers that feel pictures are a “necessary evil.” As the photographer, you need to make picture delivery as simple and painless as possible.

Why Your Studio Should Use Previews… What Previews Do For Your Studio

– Studios that web proof were very unhappy with their overall results.

The Best Options to Store Images Writers of several photography articles on “storing your images” have stated that with technology changing so rapidly, the best way to preserve your images is to have them printed on traditional photographic paper or inkjet paper using pigment inks. Storing on other forms of electronic media can be risky. CD/DVDs can be damaged, broken, lost or misplaced. Computer stick drives last an average of four years and computer hard drives last an average of five years.

5. Narrow down the selection of previews. Remember, the rule is quality, not quantity. Always edit your previews. Only present your best work to customers. Let the size of the package determine how many previews are presented to your customer.

Example: A customer can purchase one preview for $10.00 (or 12 for $100.00). The average cost for a studio to print a preview is between .20 to .30 cents. If a studio sells just one preview this is a profit of $9.70. The costs of previews are covered by the sitting fee.
