with Resselpark as the location, the main focus of Karl's living room is to provide an exciting interaction space for the students of University of Technology, the tourists coming for Karlskirche and locals simply wanting to enjoy the old park. But how does a living room function without its furnitures?!

個性化/公用住宅 a piece of PRIVATE SPACE 一塊私人空間 is where you sleep or the area that you don't want others to enter. complete privacy. a piece of SEMI PRIVATE SPACE 一塊半私人空間 is additional private space that you can use as a private atelier or even an open office. a piece of PUBLIC SPACE 一塊公共空間 ís the big "living room" for all to communicate and recreate between the locals and outsiders.

along the stream we g r o w.
梯田,教室 a campus mixed with kindergarten and elementary school classes will be situated in a park area that is filled with wild grasses, trees and a stream inbetween. due to the intense topographical environment, a stairway type of architecture is beneficial for space and lights but also interesting to connect to the diverse surrounding of vegetation. due to the topography, classrooms extra indirect light through the slits in the roofs. each classroom has a different surrounding attached and makes every class even more diverse and funny to experience.

climatic responses set as the taiwanese silicon valley, 4 buildings are planned to be high-rise offices but therefore creates uncomfortable groundfloor spaces. through an analysis it was determined where to place the 4 objects to create optimal cooling spaces for the office workers to stay at level 0 and also a better flowing wind-stream that doesn't hinder people to walk to the buldings, especially in summer around 36°C in Taoyuan. Wind directions were analysed through the 4 seasons, cooling and comfortable wind of spring and autumn breezes through the entrance areas while winter's cold wind and summer's hot wind are blocked intelligently by the shapes and directions of the 4 buldings.

預製,辦公室 as future grows rapidly and its technology & uses, we need to re-evaluate designed spaces. today's needed spaces need to be flexible for different sizes of people, different programs and technologies. modular pre-fabricated units could provide a flexibility in combining spaces and save time and materal as well while creating interesting office spaces with better indirect light conditions and air circulation.

pre-fabricated units doesn't have to mean boring identical spaces as you can change sizes and forms of each of them according to the needed capacity of office programs. using bottle like modules creates splits inbetween for better air cicrulation and rain collectors. the form also reminds you of small hills, a terrain of office that u can walk up and down to get to different levels. due to the unique form of the modules, visibility inside the whole tower is increased and creates safe but also exciting spaces.

memories of old micro-structures
全家 就是你家 how do you regenerate an abandoned urban sub-urb village in seoul? hope village, which was introduced by the government around the 70s was formed out of a cluster in which the locals had freedom to build their own houses despite the small given land. today only very few old locals live there and the village is about to get abandoned but is this village not worth anything anymore? the memories of the narrow streets shall be the beginning of a story. formal change in the cluster or even the narrowed streets are unnecessary but spaces needed to be rethinked to attract people to come. the concept of a co-house introduces the idea of sharing the whole house as one big space to live together but also give each other enough private spaces.

a "framework system" is adapted to the site which can purify the promlematic Dongcheon stream-water causing environmental problems and also connect people to different areas. This visible cunstruction works as a water pumping engineering system, rain collector, water purifier and also as urban space. basically, the construcions underneath the soil is put up and used as both engineering system and also architecture system. G R E E N P O W E R 綠色能源 as the construction is already a city engineering system, it's adaptable to the needs of the city through intelligent systems and provides functions to improve the surrounding area's air, water, etc. U R B A N S P A C E: 城市空間 invisible underground levels become reachable urban spaces that add more space & variety to the city. through the framework, u can access different walking levels and improve traffic. FLEXIBILITY 靈活性 the "green framework" provides a flexible system to build spaces within and between the framework and the surrounding area.

stairway house consists of a concrete core, surrounded by pre-fabricated wood constructed "duplex units" which create see-through spaces and enables natural light into the core. this special designed unit shall create a "luxurious" apartment space, is flexible to change to different kinds of apartments and also change the residential architecture's space & experience & functionaliy with its unique form. by using wood as contruction for both apartment and building, the overall cost and length is cut down & shortened. the whole building could be built in just a couple weeks. we aim to design a simple unit that changes the whole architecture with it and improves the whole building in different levels (sustainability, connectivity, experience, maximum comfort, cost, efficiency, etc.)

playhouse is a residential concept that combines living with playing, creating spaces in-between apartments for re-creation aimed at the younger generation. horizontal and vertical spaces re-define levels and its experiences inside an apartment.
P L A Y space: 遊戲 these red marked rooms enable entertainment programs such as climbing, playing and hiding. /vertical R E C R E A T I O N space: 休息 not just spaces for animation but also for recreation: reading a book, sleeping, relaxing. /horizontal R O O F space 屋頂 these rooms are connected with the roof with a spheric window which allows residents to enjoy a starry sky or to say hello to other neighbours or even climb up to the roof.

a new city over city area starts existing inmidst Meidling through three levels which are connected and in communication with each other. additionally, three new projects enhance the connectivity of these levels. new experiences are created through the old & new.
1. E X I S T I N G L E V EL: 存在層 this ground level keeps the existing buildings, non-functional spaces are re-invented and upgraded. more economic and entertainment spaces are created. 2. B E T W E E N L E V E L: 行走層 the "2nd" level serves as an access level to every part of the region both horizontically and vertically. public community spaces define this level's character. 3. A B O V E L E V EL: 上城層 provides private spaces incl. gardens and living spaces.

green gardener is an apartment complex of apartments combinated with different types of gardens thanks to airshafts going through the whole building and opening up the dark inside. 5 big airshafts go through the complex and create 5 apartments with a central garden, 3 have a central glassed airspace which serves as a "transparent room" that connects with the garden from other apartments through visibility and own a winter garden. the roof apartments have roof gardens. the airshafts enable light, air and water to reach the apartmenyards. tri. is a community center aimed for families and students/school kids. leisure & education spaces are confluent. the indoor & outdoor are communicating with each other. tri. can be floridsdorf's new meeting point. the program defined the ending form of the building with triangular units while even though, it seems like a solid closed puzzle, the mixture of pre-defined programs and non-wall spaces open up the rooms to each other and also indoor with outdoor. the strict "walls" of each unit become like transparent curtain walls instead of room edges. for a family with a disabled child
this sustainable house that reminds you of the pre-existed golf course in the area carries formalities of it as spirals inside and outside. spirals in our project define not just the rooms but also the boundaries regarding program, space, access and visibility.
2- ADULTS LEVEL&OFFICE
OPENNESS 開放 through the help of the spiraling elements in the house, (not just horizontally), boundaries of rooms are partly opened and even connected to other levels. unexpected experiences unfold in this play of an up-going spiral re-defining spaces and paths. CLOSENESS 關閉 while the house seems like a big labyrinth of spirals, the "jungle" character gives the resident niches. the movement of the paths enables people to get closer/spiral into each together .- the main wish of the family.

project task was to design a commune living place for characters of the french movie <Mon Oncle>: a rich sophisticated technology loving family (arpel) and the genuine, nature loving uncle (monsieur hulot) of the family's only child, who loves to play with him. the primary concept idea was Oncle Hulot being the protective shell, the outer layer embracing the core (the family) as he manages to bring the family closer at the end of the movie. The HULOTlayer (in which he can move around freely like his character) should surround the stiff and modern formalities of family ARPEL's core building - symbiosis. While HULOTlayer embraces the ARPELcore, it also opens with its form the closed entity of the ARPELcore and connects the neighbourhood, the city with the family that used to live within thick and security-cam attached walls.

metamorphosis is a concept idea for a museum that captures the motion of 2 stadiums, 1. C O C O O N 繭: the main (indoor) building is roundly shaped and and stands for the core and also for the stadium of waiting for the awakening. At the top part of the building where most light will get absorbed the bulding loosens up vertically and displays nervosity and motion and lets in the light into the core - "cocoon".

運作捕捉 the tempest
big bang in motion captures the movement of sub-elements out of a solid element. the sculpture keeps the movement in silence while through the random directions of the arms, movement appears. indefinite paths are given in all directions. CORE 核心 represents the dead, the solid, the non-moving status 0, a form that lives within its harmony in 0. the element sleeps in its shell. ARMS 手 grow out of the core, an attempt to catch something in the surrounding, an attempt to reach outside the comfort zone, even though no definite paths are given but through prime & error, first still surrounding the core in familiarty but slowling growin apart, the arms find subgroups in different directions and form into something new.
