Eight steps to your very own new MINI. MINI Hatch, MINI Convertible, MINI Clubman. Whichever model you want, this brochure will help you put your very own MINI together. The symbols at the top of the page will guide you through the process step by step. In fact, you’re just eight steps away from your very own MINI. Step one is to choose the model and engine you’re interested in. Then, in step two, you can find out all about the MINI design concept, the technology and the comprehensive safety features. Steps three, four and five are where you can give your MINI a distinctive look and feel. What exterior colour will you choose? What seats, upholstery and wheels? In step six, you can equip it with all the information and entertainment systems you want, like the MINI Radio Visual BOOST and MINI Connected. And steps seven and eight, performance and accessories, add the finishing touches.
As many right answers as there are drivers. However you like to roll, there’s a wide range and combination of optional equipment available that will make it easy for you to put together the MINI that’s right for you. For more information about all the available equipment, read on.
1. Models.
MINI HATCH. The MINI First/MINI One/MINI One D feature black radiator grille slats with a chrome surround, black side scuttles with orange indicators and a roof in body colour and exterior mirror caps in matt black. On the MINI Cooper/MINI Cooper D, the radiator grille slats are chrome-plated, while the roof and exterior mirror caps can be specified in body colour, black or white. The same goes for the MINI Cooper S, and the exclusive paint colours for this model make it even more irresistible. The side scuttles on the MINI Cooper S are chrome, with built-in white indicators. The powerful bonnet, a hexagon-look radiator grille and striking new air intakes in the lower bumper grille to cool the brakes all provide visual evidence of how much fun it is to drive.
MINI Convertible. The MINI One Convertible features black radiator grille slats with a chrome surround, black side scuttles with orange indicators, matt black mirror caps and a soft-top in black. On the MINI Cooper/MINI Cooper D, the radiator grille slats are chrome-plated, while the roof can be specified in Black, Denim Blue or Hot Chocolate. The mirror caps can also be white, black or body colour. The same soft-top options are available on the MINI Cooper S Convertible whilst this model also incorporates the same features as the MINI Hatch: including new air intakes in the lower bumper grille to cool the brakes, a hexagon-look radiator grille and side scuttles in chrome with white indicators.
MINI clubman. The MINI One/MINI One D Clubman feature black radiator grille slats with a chrome surround, black side scuttles with orange indicators and a roof in body colour and exterior mirror caps in matt black. The C-pillars can also be specified in silver or black. On the MINI Cooper/MINI Cooper D Clubman, the radiator grille slats are chromeplated, while the roof and exterior mirror caps can be specified available in body colour, black or silver, again with a choice of silver or black for the C-pillars. The side scuttles on the MINI Cooper S Clubman are chrome, with built-in white indicators. 1. Models.
MINI HATCH. The MINI lights up any street it appears on – thanks in part to its new LED rear lights fitted across the range. New rear bumper designs for each of the models provide added visual impact. The MINI One/MINI One D feature a tailgate handle in matt black, while the MINI One D shares the same chrome-plated exhaust trim as the MINI Cooper/MINI Cooper D. On the MINI Cooper/MINI Cooper D, the tailgate handle is also in chrome. The MINI Cooper S is differentiated by a unique bumper design and roof spoiler. The twin exhaust pipes, chrome surround for the fuel filler cap and body colour tailgate handle further enhance the sporty appeal.
MINI Convertible. The new LED rear lights also make an appearance at the back of the MINI Convertible, where they are combined with the new rear bumper designs. On the MINI One/ Cooper and Cooper D Convertible, the roll-over bar is in Piano Black. The MINI Cooper S Convertible is distinguished by its chrome-plated twin exhaust pipes, body colour tailgate handle and chrome finish used for the roll-over bar.
MINI clubman. The distinctive Splitdoor at the back of the MINI Clubman is flanked by the new LED rear lights. On the MINI One/One D Clubman, the body-colour roof can be combined with either a black or silver finish for the C-pillars. On the MINI Cooper/MINI Cooper D Clubman and MINI Cooper S Clubman, the roof comes in a choice of body colour, silver or black, with either silver or black C-pillars. The extra power of the MINI Cooper S Clubman is obvious – it is styled to look much wider, with twin exhaust pipes positioned near the corners of the car.

All MINI models share the same DNA providing that unique go-kart handling. 1 Single-link spring-strut front axle. Where the fun begins. Two drive shafts of equal length in the front suspension minimise the extent to which the drivetrain interferes with the steering, and optimise the car’s cornering, acceleration and braking. 2 Multi-link rear axle. Unique in a car of this class, ensuring optimum contact between the wheels and the road, for the best possible traction. Aluminium construction keeps weight to a minimum and increases agility.
3 Rack-and-pinion steering. A turn for the better. Electric power-assist ensures outstanding steering response, with the driver getting precise feedback. The weight of the steering adjusts to the speed of the car, for easier steering at low and high speeds alike. For maximum comfort it’s only 2.4 turns lock to lock.

4 PETROL ENGINES. MINI First: 1598 cc engine with 75 hp, 140 Nm torque. MINI One: 1598 cc engine with 98 hp, 153 Nm torque. MINI One MINIMALIST: 1598 cc engine with 98 hp, 153 Nm torque. 5 DIESEL ENGINES. New turbocharged diesel engines with cutting-edge common-rail technology provide smooth power delivery with outstanding environmental performance. MINI One D: 1598 cc engine with 90 hp, 215 Nm torque. MINI Cooper D: 1598 cc engine with 112 hp, 270 Nm torque.

MINIMALISM. LESS IS MORE. Cutting out the fumes needn’t mean cutting out the fun. This is made possible by a range of innovative MINIMALISM technologies fitted to the MINI One MINIMALIST, MINI One D, MINI Cooper, MINI Cooper D and MINI Cooper S. 1 AUTOMATIC START-STOP FUNCTION.1 Manual gearbox only. With the car in neutral and the clutch disengaged, the engine is automatically switched off. As soon as the clutch pedal is depressed, the engine is restarted, giving you a unique fuel saving feature.
2 SHIFT POINT DISPLAY.1 The Shift Point Display (manual gearbox only) informs you of the most economical gear for any given situation, helping to reduce your emissions and expenditure on fuel.

3 BRAKE ENERGY REGENERATION.1 Brake Energy Regeneration uses Intelligent Alternator Control to make the most of unused energy. When coasting or braking, the battery is charged, utilising energy that would otherwise be wasted. 4 FULLY VARIABLE VALVE TIMING. Cutting edge technology increases power output while simultaneously improving the efficiency of combustion.
5 COMMON-RAIL TECHNOLOGY. High-pressure injection and multiple pre-injections ensure the diesel enters the cylinder as a fine mist, which reduces engine noise and improves both power and fuel economy.

1 DSC. Fitted as standard, Dynamic Stability Control ensures optimum traction by intervening in the engine management and applying braking force to individual wheels as necessary. DSC also includes Hill Assist, which prevents the car from rolling backwards on slopes. DTC. Only available as part of the Sport Pack, Dynamic Traction Control system raises the threshold before intervention in the engine management and braking system. It also includes EDLC, Electronic Differential Lock Control which helps to provide selective brake-force to either front wheel (e. g. to prevent the “inside� wheel from slipping during cornering).
2 Adaptive Headlights. This option improves illumination of the road ahead when cornering. Sensors measure the steering angle, rate of turn and vehicle speed, and electric motors then adjust the angle of the headlights accordingly (only available in conjunction with Vision Pack).

3 4 BODY. The body of the MINI has been reinforced at strategic points, guaranteeing extreme torsional rigidity for an exceedingly robust passenger compartment. The aim is to deliver the perfect combination of comfort, acoustics and protection.
5 SUSPENSION. The combination of a single-link spring-strut front axle and a multi-link rear axle with wide track and a low centre of gravity results in the unmistakable MINI feeling: stable, agile, with excellent cornering ability at all speeds, plus superb traction and outstanding safety.

1 RESTRAINT SYSTEM. A combination of 3-point belts, belt tensioners and integrated belt catch means driver and front-seat passenger enjoy the best possible protection in the event of a crash. ISOFIX. To ensure the safety of younger passengers, ISOFIX child seats can be mounted in the rear. EURO NCAP CRASH TEST. In the Euro NCAP crash test, the MINI Hatch scored the maximum possible five stars. The level of protection for passengers and driver was rated as excellent in front, side and pole impacts, and child safety too is well above average.
2 BRAKING SYSTEM. Four disc brakes with Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Cornering Brake Control (CBC) and Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD) as standard ensure optimum braking performance. Brake Assist accelerates the delivery of braking force in an emergency situation to ensure the shortest possible distances.

3 ACTIVE ROLL-OVER BAR. Made of high-strength aluminium, the active roll-over bar fitted to the MINI Convertible ensures optimum protection for all passengers. Normally it is retracted behind the rear headrests, and blends seamlessly into the lines of the car, but in an emergency it deploys upwards in a fraction of a second. 4 5 AIRBAGS. The MINI is fitted with six airbags as standard (four on the MINI Convertible). Driver and front passenger airbags protect the head and upper body in the event of a head-on collision, while side and head airbags are primarily designed to reduce the risk of injuries to the head, chest and abdominal areas from side impacts.
DYNAMIC BRAKING LIGHTS. Alerts following drivers to dangerous situations faster. Under normal braking the light comes on in the conventional way, but when the MINI performs an emergency braking manoeuvre, it starts to flash. In this way, it enables the traffic behind to see immediately how hard the MINI is braking. Automatic activation of the hazard warning lights also lessens the risk of an impact from behind.
3. Colours and upholstery. Exterior colours.

A wide range of exclusive metallic and non-metallic paint colours are available for your MINI. Give your MINI the personal touch by combining different colour options for the roof, exterior mirror caps and wheels. However, MINI One models are only available with a roof in Body Colour, or a soft-top in Black in the case of the MINI One Convertible.

On MINI Cooper, MINI Cooper D and MINI Cooper S models, the roof and mirror caps can be specified in either body colour, black, or white.
MINI Convertible SOFT-TOP COLOURS. The MINI Convertible has more than just a straight up, straight down soft-top. It has a continuously variable sunroof function and is available in three colours: Black, Denim Blue, or Hot Chocolate. Time to get your creative head on. Whichever option you go for, the inside of the soft-top is always black.

MINI Clubman colour combinations. The MINI Clubman is available in an enormous choice of exterior colours. There are many different ways you can combine these with the roof and C-pillar colours on the different models. On the MINI One Clubman/MINI One D Clubman, the roof is always in body colour and the mirror caps in matt black, and on the other MINI Clubman models, the mirror caps are always the same colour as the roof unless the optional chrome mirror caps are specified. 5 6 The White direction indicator lights option comprises transparent glasses for the indicators in the front headlights and rear lights and at the sides of the car. 7 The roof rails allow drivers to mount a range of integrated multifunctional carrier systems on the roof. They blend harmoniously into the lines of the car, and are finished in Matt Black. Maximum load is 75 kg.
8 Darkened rear glass reduces the build-up of heat in the interior of the car caused by strong sunlight, making things more comfortable for the occupants. Where this option is specified, the glass is visibly darker from the B-pillars backwards (including the rear windscreen).

1 Stylish, distinctive and unmistakably MINI, right down to the last detail: the instruments and controls are harmoniously designed and laid out for intuitive ease of use. The centre console with radio controls and its characteristic switch cluster

7 The separately folding rear seat backrests (50:50 split) can be put into the flat position from the luggage compartment, allowing the car to carry bulky objects and three people at the same time with just one side folded. When both rear seat backrests are folded down, depending on the model there is as much as 930 litres of luggage space. 8 On the MINI Clubman, a three-seat rear seat bench is standard, with three headrests.
9 All MINI models are equipped with an easy entry function. When the seat is folded forwards, it glides towards the dashboard to give easier access to the rear seats. The seat memory function allows the seat to slide back into its original position. 10 The rear seat backrests in MINI Clubman models fold down separately. The optional flat load floor makes for easier loading and unloading.

The amount and distribution of conditioned air can be individually adjusted. An integrated active carbon filter protects passengers against unpleasant odours from outside.

5 6 When the rain sensor is activated, it automatically switches on the windscreen wipers when necessary, and adjusts their speed to how hard it is raining. The built-in light sensor automatically switches on the driving lights when needed in dark or twilight conditions.

1 2 The comfort access system allows you to lock and unlock the car without even having to touch the key. Simply having it in your pocket or handbag is enough. You can also switch the ignition on and off keylessly, simply by pressing the Start/ Stop button. 3 Park Distance Control (PDC) at the rear makes it easier to park and manoeuvre in tight spaces. An acoustic signal (and a visual display, if the MINI navigation system or MINI Radio Visual BOOST is also fitted) informs the driver of the distance between the car and any obstacle.
4 The large opening of the panoramic glass sunroof lets in plenty of fresh air. Electronic controls operate the front/rear vent function, and there is also a remote control convenient opening function. Tinted glass and two detachable roller sunblinds built into the central section of the roof protect the occupants from bright sunlight. 5 The continuously variable built-in sunroof function allows a gap of up to 40 cm to be opened in the soft-top. It can be operated even while the car is on the move, at speeds of up to 70 mph.

The modified front and rear aprons, radiator grille slats and tailgate handle are all painted in body colour. Not only do these components give the MINI a thoroughbred sports-car look, but their optimised aerodynamics also enhance the driving experience. From the side too, the special side skirts, together with the painted wheel arches, give the car a dynamic appearance.
