SEED OF hOPE
The Seed of hope sculpture, located in the first floor atrium, is a symbol of hope and healing for patients at the Cancer Institute. On each patient’s final day of active treatment, or at any time during their remission, the clinic staff presents him or her with two seed-shaped tokens. One token is to place in the sculpture and the second is to keep or pass along as a symbol of hope to someone else facing a challenge. This special moment has become a significant milestone in the lives of our patients. Family members, staff members and volunteers gather to cheer, hug and even shed a tear of joy with our patients as they begin this new chapter in their lives. Those who choose to participate also are invited to share their story of hope on our website, www.seed-of-hope.com. Make sure to tell your doctor or nurse that you want to participate in the Seed of hope ceremony when your active treatment is complete or at any point during your remission. The Seed of hope is made possible through the generosity of the Cancer Institute Auxiliary.
