Area A Celebrates Leadership, Unity, and Friendship through an Online Webinar UAPSA- Area A Chapter Advisers and Presidents, Committees along with 200 delegates gather for a two-day Online Webinar, with the theme “Concordis.Online: Advancing the Urban Agenda� last October 17 - 18, 2020. The event was held through a zoom meeting while it aired on facebook live on UAPSA- Area A Official Facebook Page. The first day, October 17, 2020, was planned for Taripnong-- llokano word for Lead and Leadership-- an online webinar via Streamyard and Facebook live. Taripnong started with the Invocation by the District Directors, followed by the welcome remarks of Ar. Nyssa ReyesJimenes,uap, Committee on uap- Student Auxiliary,-

then the program proceeded to having the three guest speakers have their webinar talks along with the presentation of certificates and Icebreaker Activities for the delegates in between talks. The first guest speaker for the afternoon was Ar. Rosanno Baradi, as he introduced innovative concepts in rural planning as he also shared his experiences in planning community facilities in his talk about Provincial and rural planning, followed by Ar. Maria Criselda Perez-Soriano,uap. Her talk about The Roles of the Architect in Advancing the Urban Agenda enlightened the delegates on how rural culture is swiftly being replaced by urban culture, At the end of her talk, Ar. PerezSoriano emphasized that advancing the urban agenda starts at the individual level, it starts with the youth. Ar. Ma. EleanorLucero, was the third and final speaker for the day.


The Taripnong webinar ended with the closing remarks of Sir Ray Michael Benjimen S. Piluden, uapsa uc. The second day, October 18, 2020, was intended for Mangitunda, a leadership training seminar of two parts: the first part being the induction ceremony for all chapter executive committees and for those officers that didn’t have the chance to participate from the previous UAPSA Induction ceremony. While the second part serves as a breakout room session for the chapter president’s assembly. The event was opened by Ar. Junar P. Tablan,uap ,followed by the introduction of Managing committees in preparation for the afternoon’s mentorship program. Then Mr. Ray Michael Benjimen Piluden moved the event to the presentation of chapters before proceeding with the induction ceremony headed by the UAPSA national president, Ms. Maxine Andrea Lumbera,uapsaaddu and Secretary General, Alfredrick Cruz, uapsa-tipm. After the new officers were officially inducted, Ar. Rossano “ Bobby” Baradi imparted his message of congratulations as well as he welcomed the officers and chapter presidents to the Concordis 2020 which was then followed by an inspirational message from Ms. Jewel May Salvan, National Executive Vice President. “Our value is an embodiment of how what and who we are as a person that reflects this organization”, Ms. Salvan stated, as she reminds us of our duties as a part of UAPSA. Mangitunda was then closed by Ar. Nyssa Reyes-Jimenez, in which she congratulated both incoming and outcoming officers and advised three main points that the new officers may use during their leadership, being Dedication, Transparency and Compassion to others. In the evening of both days, was a chance for the delegates to learn and get to know their fellow officers through the online movie night, entitled Panagbuya, a two -day event that starts after day one’s Webinar and day two’s Induction ceremonies. The streaming of movies starts at 4 in the afternoon till 8 in the evening, the delegates were free to choose from a variety of a series of horror and suspense themed movies through different Discord channels.

Winners for the Icebreaker events during the Taripnong webinar event on day one were announced last October 31, 2020. Delegates that triumphed on the Quiz bee Icebreaker are, Angela Nicole Valdepenas, Rhency de Guzman Tapang, Jefferson Hidalgo Boadila, Gianne Paula Peralta and Isaiah Tabu. While Victors from the Singing Bee Icebreaker are , Patrick Vincent Villanueva Madduma, Geyl Lozano , Joshua Motea Santiago, Clark Justin Aguinaldo Galiza and Gianne Paula Peralta. The grand winner recipient of the Dubai leggo set courtesy of Ar. Nyssa Reyes-Jimenez ,where participants are asked to create a post on their thoughts about “Advancing the new urban agenda” ,is Patrick Vincent Villanueva Madduma, “Cities become engines of growth if well planned and well managed”, he states.
