Sermon Title: God’s Hope For Your Home
Sermon Text: Luke 1:8-20
Small Group Text: Luke 1:8-23
Introduction
Sometimes trusting God in prayer is difficult because we typically don’t see immediate results. Modern day Americans expect instant everything (i.g., TV, microwave, internet, etc). We even expect a microwave God. Pop in a request, wait a few seconds, and expect a fully developed answer. We are not used to waiting. God doesn’t seem to work on our time schedule. What is something you’ve prayed for but have yet to receive an answer?

What can we learn about angels from this passage? (1:11-12, 19). 6. What can we learn from Zechariah and Elizabeth’s experience to help us handle long-term disappointments? 1. Share a time when you’ve doubted the reality of Gods’ love and provision for your life? 2. What long-term frustration can you identify in your personal life that needs to be entrusted to God? 3. How can you strengthen your realization that God is in control? 4. The Scriptures used the term angel to refer to both heavenly beings and human beings who bring God’s message of help and hope to people. How could you be an “angel of hope and mercy” to someone over the next few weeks?
