LAUNCH YOUR BOOK AT OUR 20TH ANNIVERSARY FESTIVAL

We celebrate authors of all career stages at Ubud Writers & Readers Festival. Book launches are an opportunity to host a unique spotlight event for your new work as part of our 20th Anniversary Festival.

Taking place from 18–22 October 2023, Ubud Writers & Readers Festival is Southeast Asia’s flagship celebration of the literary arts. Renowned internationally for its diverse and intimate program, the festival gathers over 150 of the world’s most exciting writers, thinkers, and performers for five days of electrifying conversation, thoughtful debate, and exhilarating entertainment.

Alongside author in-conversations and panel discussions, we will be offering book launches that are held in a range of fabulous restaurants, galleries, and other venues around Ubud and are free to attend. Past participants include Putu Oka Sukanta, Clarissa Goenawan, Boy Candra, Eka Kurniawan, Magdalena Sitorus, Janice Whyne, Peter Carey, Julia Prendergast, Anton Muhajir, among others.

The UWRF23 Book Launch Program provides you the stage to introduce your book to the world. The format of the event is up to you: speeches, a conversation, a reading, giveaways—it’s your vision!

The fee to present a book launch event as part of the UWRF23 program is AUD 1,000 for international applicants and IDR 3,250,000 for Indonesian citizens. The benefits of your investment include:

• Host a launch event, which is free to attend and open to the general public at one of the most celebrated and diverse literary events in Southeast Asia

• Book launch venue including welcome drinks and canapés for around 50 attendees (volunteer venue liaison and basic technical setup provided)

• Promotion of your book launch event through the UWRF website and across UWRF social media platforms

• Sale of your book at the Festival’s bookshop

• Receive a Festival Pass for free entry to the UWRF23 Main Program
