Jose Ignacio “Pepe” San Roman Midfielder/Forward Madrid, Spain 5-9 155 lbs Rayo Majadahonda Pepe joins Manuel Montal and Alejandro Moquete as the third Spanish player on the team. He comes from Madrid, where he played with Rayo Majadahonda FC, who competes in the very strong Madrid Region of the Division of Honor in Spain. He is a left-footed player who plays as a second forward or winger. Playing regularly against teams like Real Madrid, Getafe or Atletico de Madrid has prepared him well for Division 1 soccer. Pepe has actually been invited several times to play with them in tournaments like Malaga’s Cup. He has also been called several times to play with the Selection of Madrid and won some International Tournaments such as Benidorm Cup, Donosti Cup or Valencia Cup where he won the MVP of the Tournament. Pepe’s junior year in high school was spent studying in Southern California. During this period he played with United FC, representing them in the Cal South Youth Soccer League and several tournaments, such as the prestigious Dallas Cup. He was also asked to practice with Chivas USA Academy for one month and invited to stay in the United States to play with them indefinitely. In the end he decided to go back to Spain to finish his High School. He plans to study Business at UCA and is looking forward to the opportunity to be a Student Athlete. “Pepe comes to us with a wealth of experience and a level and style of play that will help him acclimate quickly during preseason. André De Giorgi Forward Lisbon, Portugal 5-9 157 lbs André comes from Lisbon, where he played for some of the top teams in Portugal: Sporting Clube de Portugal, Estoril Praia, Belenenses and Casa Pia Atlético Clube. He has always competed in the very strong Portuguese National Championship against some of the best players in the country. He is a left-footed player who plays as a winger on either side or up top as a forward or second forward. His main features are physical strength a strong and precise left-footed shot. He has great technique, is fast on the field and he is willing to do anything for the team. At UCA he plans to study Business and is very excited with the opportunity to be a Student Athlete. “Having to opprtunity to see Andre in person is what really sold us on him as a player. His physical abilities were obvious from the start, and his technical and tactical impact on the game made him a very dangerous attacking player. He can fit into multiple positions in our system and his impact early on will likely be determined by his preparation over the summer. He is a very mature young man and will no doubt make the most out of his experience here at UCA. He is very responsible and will fit in well with the current and incoming players.” -
