APRIL HIGH LIGHTS
SPRING WELCOME WEEK
UCD CKI kicked off this spring quarter with a week full of various events throughout March 28th to April 6th! From our board game night to our grass volleyball social, welcome week was a memorable way to start out the new quarter before our first general meeting took place on Wednesday, April 6!

SATURDAY 4/2 KIWANIS ONE DAY YOLO SPCA GRASS VOLLEYBALL SOCIAL
WEDNESDAY 4/6 FIRST GENERAL MEETING
On April 2, I had the pleasure of visiting the Kiwanis Family House in Sacramento. We cleaned up the playground, gardened, had a giant barbecue, and interacted with hundreds of other Kiwanis members. This is an event that extends beyond Circle K—in particular, it's a good way to meet high school Key Club members and share your experiences. In addition to meeting and gardening with people from Sacramento State, I got to tell two high school students all about my experiences at UC Davis.
KIWANIS ONE DAY
According to their website, Kiwanis One Day is an international event where roughly 700,000 Kiwanis members participate in service. It was great to take part in this, and it remains one of my favorite events. Best, Evan.

sPRING SERViCE
MAraTHON
The service marathon that UCD CKI holds every quarter began on Friday, April 8 with the DCON Sergeant at Arms! The next day was packed with even more events: Orange Orchard Harvest, Honeybee Haven, CWC Saturday Club, Color Run Fest, and DCON College Expo. Even though it was a rainy day out, members came together and participated in a day full of service! Shout out to Carrie Ng, the general member who completed the most hours of service with 11 hours! Also, a special thanks to our Service Vice President, Allen Huynh, and Service Chair, Leanna Tran, for planning and managing the event!

SPRING TRAINING CONFERENCE NORTH
STC: BROADCAST YOUR LEADERSHIP On April 30, CNH Spring Training Conference north took place at UC Davis in Giedt Hall! This district event was a great way for Circle K members from different schools in the North to meet each other and network. Many different workshops were held throughout the day by Circle K members, including our very own Amy Wong with a workshop on graphic design and how to use Adobe Photoshop! Workshop topics varied from learning how to save money in college, to learning how to dance! After STC, UCD CKI held a fundraiser at Lazi Cow, and the Capital Division also had its end of the year banquet in Giedt Hall!

MAY HIGH LIGHTS
END OF THE YEAR
BANQUET On Saturday, May 14 at the Davis Odd Fellows, our club celebrated and looked back at our achievements within the past year in Circle K. Members got to see the retirement of the old board and the installation of the new board. Graduating seniors were recognized and got the chance to say a few words before their graduation. Throughout the night, guests were entertained by several talents acts, such as the Yeh Boys with their soulful rendition of Ne-Yo’s “So Sick.”

“To me, EOTYB was the end of my first year in CKI. The banquet represented all the work and accomplishments Davis CKI had done throughout the past year and I can’t be more proud. We had so much food and even cool raffle prizes like the polaroid camera! I was happy to be part of CKI for my first year in college and the EOTYB represented much of the happy times I had during club events. I made lasting friendships and connections with the people in our club. To all the seniors graduating, you all will do great things in life!” - Kevin Jiang

KIWANIS PICNIC The Kiwanis Picnic, held on Sunday, May 22nd at Westwood Park, was a great way for CKI members and Davis Kiwanians to learn more about each other. Everyone brought food to   share, and bonded through activities like grass volleyball, water ballon fight, soccer, frisbee, and more! Our club also raised $75 for the Kiwanis Family House with the pie raffling — members bought tickets for a chance to pie an officer of their choice. A big shout out to our Kiwanis Family Relation chair, Tina Ngo and Justine Do-Huyng, for planning a successful picnic with our Kiwanis family!

Kiwanis picnic was a really fun joint social. It was so nice seeing different branches of Kiwanis there, from the Kiwanians to a key clubber and even a Cub Scout! There was a lot of food thanks to everyone who contributed and especially the Kiwanians (slightsmile emoticon) everyone seemed to have a good time. There were lots of people playing volleyball and soccer. There were also lots of water balloons that we played games with and then decided to play a free for all at the end. My favorite part was seeing a lot of the board members getting pied! It was a really fun event and I hope everyone had just as much fun as I did (grin emoticon). - Justine Do-Huyng
