Family Medicine Undergraduate Medical Education
FACULTY & STAFF
ABOUT US The Department of Family Medicine’s Undergraduate Medical Education (UME) program is a highly successful program — mentoring, advising, and providing educational offerings within the University of Colorado School of Medicine, as well as in community education and inter-professional opportunities. We also play an important role in ensuring that our clinical faculty have the most current resources and training available. Our program includes a primary care curriculum consisting of either a traditional or integrated longitudinal medicine clerkship (ILMC), a mentored scholarly activity program (MSA), and an ongoing, robust advising program. Additionally, there are student interest groups, a strong rural track program, and a number of diverse electives ranging from providing clinical service to homeless patients in the Stout Street Clinic to a “Create Your Own” Family Medicine elective.
OUR MISSION Fostering individual, family, and community health through innovative medical education.
OUR VISION Graduates of the University of Colorado School of Medicine will value Family Medicine, its foundational role in fostering healthier individuals, families, and communities, and will see Family Medicine as a fulfilling career.
