– Rachelle Krausen Academic Success AdvisorAs a Career Advisor, I love the way our Career Services team prioritizes supporting students and their career readiness. It’s inspiring to prepare students, through our courses and additional resources, to gain the confidence to pursue their goals and to be curious to try new things.
– Chelsea Miyashiro Career AdvisorI help navigate students through the federal financial aid process as well as direct them toward other possible sources of funding their education, such as scholarships. Seeing the students I have advised over the years graduate gives me a sense of fulfillment that I was able to succeed in helping them finance their UCM education.
– Nancy Anderson Financial Aid CounselorAs a peer, I understand the challenges students face, and I want to come alongside them to help them succeed here at UCM. I’m here to listen, encourage and give practical support and advice. I want students to know that they have a support system and they do not have to struggle alone.
– Aleah Reece Academic Success CoachI start by listening to a students’ story. Then, we work together to create a plan that will help them develop confidence and gain the skills needed to successfully reach their goals.

WHY UCM?
“UCM offered a balance between a high-quality education and ‘the college experience.’ UCM offered all of the necessary services to be successful as a student and ample opportunity to get involved on campus.”
WHAT’S LIFE LIKE ON CAMPUS?
“I’m involved in Army ROTC, student government and Alpha Tau Omega. I work for Admissions and have worked for Housing. Most of my friends are people I have worked with, been in organizations with or met at events. I started living in the residence halls my freshman/sophomore year before moving to university apartments. Interacting with the people on your floor, especially your freshman year, is a great way to meet new people.”
The best way to see if UCM is the right fit for you is to learn from the experiences of real students! See why they love UCM and catch a glimpse into their daily lives on campus.
FAVORITE PLACE ON CAMPUS?
“My favorite place on campus is the Student Recreation and Wellness Center, specifically because of the intramurals.”
ADVICE TO INCOMING FRESHMEN?
“UCM is large enough that you could disappear into the background, and small enough that you can leave a lasting impact that will carry on for the future generations. Do what you can now to set yourself up for success later. Enjoy the college experience, but at the end of the day once you walk across the stage and get your degree, you take on a greater responsibility.”

MAJOR
Events Marketing Management
WHY UCM?
“It was one of the few schools that offered Events Marketing Management as a major. I also wanted to be slightly far away from home, but still have a decent drive. I also wanted a smaller campus that wasn’t too small, but small enough for me to develop genuine relationships with my professors.”
WHAT’S LIFE LIKE ON CAMPUS?
“I lived on campus for two years, and during my time in the residence halls, I made many friends. I am currently involved in the Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority, Alumni Ambassadors, the MuleNation Student Chapter, and I’m an Admissions ambassador. I have used many resources here at UCM, one of the biggest being Success Advising. I (as well as my family) was very new to the idea of college because I’m a first-generation college student. I wasn’t sure what major to choose, and I had no idea where I wanted to go after college. After many meetings with my advisor, I found out I had a passion for marketing, planning and organization. Events Marketing Management was the perfect major for me as it combined all three of my passions together to create the perfect balance of all my likes.”
FAVORITE PLACE ON CAMPUS?
“The Student Recreation and Wellness Center. I believe fitness and mental health go hand in hand. Having this resource on campus has allowed me to not only look good but feel good as well. I know I can always utilize the fitness classes and cardio equipment to de-stress and clear my mind.”
ADVICE TO INCOMING FRESHMEN?
“Get involved as much as you can, but make sure you can balance your academics as well. Finding the balance can really make sure you have a great time during your college adventure. UCM is a great place to get hands-on experience. You really develop relationships with your professors, and there are so many opportunities that await you after college because of the experiences you receive here as a student. You’ll leave the campus feeling confident in your line of work because you quite honestly experience your line of work many years before you are actually in the industry.”
