Let’s Create a Brilliant Future Together Launched in 2019, UCI’s Brilliant Future campaign is the largest philanthropic effort in Orange County history. It provides UCI an opportunity to engage the community and demonstrate, like never before, our passion for what UCI stands for. In just a few short years, the campaign has reached two major milestones. It has achieved more than half of its $2 billion fundraising goal and has engaged over 50,000 graduates in its plan of 75,000 alumni participants. Together with the community, we are transforming healthcare and wellness, advancing the American dream through student success, accelerating world-changing research, and illuminating the human experience.

Where the Humanities, Arts and Medicine Meet UCI’s Center for Medical Humanities offers a thoroughly interdisciplinary and interprofessional approach to understanding how people make meaning out of sickness, health, healthcare and the body. CMH marshals the intellectual and creative resources of faculty, students and staff from humanities, arts and medicine — and partners with colleagues in other schools — to build a collaborative environment.

A Storied Art Collection Plans are underway for the UCI campus location of the recently named Jack and Shanaz Langson Institute and Museum of California Art (Langson IMCA). Its two founding collections, The Irvine Museum Collection of late 19th and early 20th century California impressionist and plein air (made outdoors) paintings and The Buck Collection of postwar and contemporary art, together comprise more than 4,500 artworks in various genres and mediums. As home to the only institute and museum dedicated to the study and preservation of California’s influence and innovation through art, Langson IMCA has made it a priority to engage with educational communities and local residents. It has developed close working relationships with elementary and secondary schools from 19 districts in the region and has, since last fall, provided on-site and virtual programs for local youths and their teachers.

Online Learning Research Center Created by UCI’s School of Education, the Online Learning Research Center is led by prominent experts in online learning and was designed to provide evidence-based resources, materials and guidelines for teachers and students to improve academic achievement and equity in online learning.

AANAPISI Asian American & Native American Pacific IslanderServing Institution UCI Black Thriving Initiative Celebrating its one-year anniversary, the UCI Black Thriving Initiative recognizes and responds to anti-Blackness as an existential threat to our mission as a public research university. In depriving Black people of their full participation in society and in university life, anti-Blackness compromises UCI’s capacity to educate, discover, create and heal. It therefore demands a whole-university response. This university response relies on each member of our campus community linking their future to the success of Black students, faculty and staff, as well as alumni and communities served by UCI.

#1 choice UCI has been the No. 1 choice of in-state first-generation students among all UC campuses for four consecutive years.
