Costume design alumna Kristine N. Haag has been nominated for a 2020 Emmy Award. Haag is part of the costume design team nominated for “Outstanding Contemporary Costumes” for her work as the Assistant Costume Designer on the Netflix show Grace and Frankie for the episode “The Tank.” Her colleagues Allyson B. Fanger, Costume Designer and Lori DeLapp, Costume Supervisor, complete the nominated design team.

Haag earned her undergraduate degree from Ohio’s Kent State University’s School of Theatre and Dance in 2003 and her masters of fine arts in costume design from the UCI Claire Trevor School of the Arts in 2006.

Haag currently serves as the assistant costume designer on the upcoming series based on the adaptation of Tom Wolfe’s best-seller, The Right Stuff, premiering in October 2020 on Disney+. She has served in a host of costume and wardrobe departments for television, including ABC’s The Fix and Scandal, Paramount’s Nobodies, NBC’s Good Girls, Netflix’s Girlboss and The CW’s No Tomorrow, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, and 90210.

Additionally, Haag has worked in costume design roles for feature films, including HBO’s original film Confirmation, Warner Bros.’ Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Disney’s TRON: Legacy. Haag also served on the executive board of The Costume Designers Guild as the Assistant Costume Designer Representative. The 72nd Emmy Awards hosted by the Television Academy are on on Sunday, Sept. 20, 2020, on ABC. We wish Ms. Haag the best of luck in receiving the award!
