How to Experience California Safely

Due to the continued effects of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, UC Irvine will be taking precautions to monitor the situation. UC Irvine will be requiring all students to be fully vaccinated by start of classes. If you are not vaccinated, schedule an appointment as soon as possible. Instructions to request a medical, religious, disability or pregnancy exemption, or deferral can be found on the UCI Student Health Center (SHC) website here.

What is social distancing?

Social distancing is the act of increasing the physical space between people to avoid spreading an illness.

How can I practice social distancing?

• Stay at least 6 feet away from others • If you are not fully vaccinated, you are recommended to wear a face covering especially in gatherings of 10 or more people • Avoid large group situations o It is okay to go to the grocery store but be sure to stay 6 feet away from others and always wash your hands.

What can I do while practicing social distancing?

• Hike and bike various trails • Netflix Party with friends • Play video games with friends • Get a new hobby (gardening, guitar, card tricks!) • Visit beautiful California beaches
