PROLOGUE Every time I see the advertisements, the variety shows, the reality shows, the movies, or even the MV, I found that they were tend to adopt some magnificent and distinctive buildings as the background. It is so interesting that the architecture not just gives play to its original function, but also presents a beautiful landscape to bring people the feeling of cheerful and full of hope, as well as the huge positive effects on the surrounding environment. This is why I choose Architecture Design as my future major that it not only effects on landscape, but also effects on people mentally and physically. Holding the aim in my mind, I grasped valuable opportunities to train myself, such as the academic competitions, internships, and extracurricular activities. The undergraduate career and internships deepened my thoughts in architecture. Architectural space is involved broadly with more elements, such as the epidermis, structure, material, or even, landscape, plants and external sky that they constantly carry out communications and interactions with each other. All the elements integrate, infuse and echo with each other to convey a certain feeling or to give viewers an eye-feast. Thus, the good architecture should be people-oriented that in the perspective of people to create a space to fulfill people and environment’s needs.

01 CITY CEMETERY 2016 UIA-HYP Cup International Student Competition in Architectural Design Honorable Mention Site:Sendai, Japan Team Member:Wang Shenjia Role in Team:Conceptual Design,Architectual Representation,Technical Drawing A big earthquake stuck the coast of Japan at 14:46 JST on March 11,2011.The earthquake triggered powerful tsunami waves that reached heights of up to 40.5 metres and in the Sendai area, traveled up to 10 km inland.A Japanese National Police Agency report confirmed 228,863 people living away from their home in either temporary housing or due to permanent relocation. Now survivors are in need of a place to memory their disappeared home.In my mind,Japanese are ethnic group walking between light and shadow. They enjoy panic and get energy from it rather than escape. The emotion is restrained and veiled. But the earthquake was so tragic so I mean to create a memory for vanished city indirectly instead of dead people.

Cemetery in Japan Cemery in Japan is real common.People build cemery just besides their houses. The relationship between home and cemery is excellently harmonious. According to above phenomenon,we plan to design a "City Cemetery" for homeless people to memory. But homeless people should not be immersed in sadness. So we put the "cemetery" under the ground and design a park on the ground in order to arouse people's hope.

This map shows the ground motion and shaking intensity from the earthquake at dozens of locations across Japan. The circle appears to run parallel to the offshore subduction trench, with the intensity decreasing more from east to west, as opposed to north and south. Ground motion also seems to be more intense in coastal and riverine areas, among which Sendai suffered almostly most strong earthquake.

Vanished City Texture 14:46,March 11,2011

Concept

We choose a site between urban and countryside in Sentai. After tsunami, large number of houses were damaged and quite a lot homeless people move to the region around the site. In an unfamiliar environment, people have a damand of memory. So we extract the texture of vanished city, and then put it into the site to reproduce living environment, which people are familiar with.

Thousands of houses were ruined by the earthquake and tsunami, resulting in large amount of homeless people. When reproducing the scene of ruined city,we invert the house and put it under the ground, meanwhile planting trees on the ground to create a park.

Underground Rendering These inverted "houses" could arouse the memory of homeless people. We provide several ways to get into the "house" for people to re-experience the scenes in their houses with family. There are various species of plants in the pits, meaning the sadness will be replaced by the new life.

02 MIXED-FUNCTIONS BLOCK FOR SPORTS 2016 Block Planning with a Landscape Student Site:Adelaide, Australia Team Member:Wang Shenjia Role in Team:Site Analysis,Conceptual Design,Architectual Representation In modern cities,high-rise is common and different functions are divided clearly, which make our living environment larger. And I think it is an inefficient way to live to some extent. Maybe we could put forward a new mode to live in a block scale. In this block, buildings are mixed-function so as to people could do most they want to just in distance of the block. Meanwhile, more and more high-rise and high density city keep people away from sports in nature. And after the site survey,we found it is in demand of a block for sports enthusiasts. So we put a sports system into the block and link buildings with continuous roads to provide a new lifestyle for sports enthusiasts.

City Texture and Site Location The site is located in Hindley Street in Adelaide’s North city. This proposal aims to create more outdoor sports space in CBD, and retain the cultural identity of Australian historical buildings. It will benefit the people who love sports, including athletes, sportsmen, gymnasium coach, sports fans, or just the one who loves to watch football games.

Perspective of Three Diffrent Views The buildings are divided into small parts in order to create more roof areas. The roofs are used as different sports courts. There are ramps connecting each roofs as the horizontal circulation. The ramps can also be the track for jogging, running or skateboard through the roofs different levers.

Concept It addresses the lack of outdoor sports area in city center. It provides roof sports courts on different levels and connecting by running track. The cores with elevators and stairs are also the part of building structure as the main columns.

Longitudinal Section and Functions The building fabric and facades retain some historical building facades at the site as well as some other historical buildings in Australia, to create a cultural identity street in Adelaide city.

03 PUBLIC GREEN CANOPY 2016 Urban Design in Studio Architecture Design VI Site:Hangzhou,China Individual Work Hangzhou is a modern as well as traditional city in south China with typhoon and a plenty of water every spring.Because of hilly terrain in Hangzhou, this characteristic always results in flooding in city and villages, seriously making huge trouble to people. In order to solve the problem,I plan to put two canopy above where is lower, absorbing and collecting rainwater through green. According to the load-bearing structure and the roads,I decided two big roofs where to touchdown and where to arch. For lighting I opened the round holes on roofs. At the same time holes create a space for the growth of trees. In order to attract people to reside,I arranged for different types of buildings under the roof and connect the various green points with wooden floor.

Public Green Site Topography Low-lying areas have a lot of water in the annual rainy season, and bring a great deal of distress to people’s traveling. There is a big height difference in this plan venue itself. So,how to solve the surface water in the creation of public green at the same time is a good point to start.

04 CENTRAL GREEN OFFICE 2016 High-rise Design in Studio Architecture Design VI Site:Hangzhou,China Individual Work Nowadays busy people spend more time in office, having no time enjoying nature.Under the big working pressure, office workers have a request of touching green. Here I choose a high-rise as a representative office building in my project of urban design to attempt my idea. The building is in the middle of main road and public green. In the center of the building,I design a verticle green in order to create connection sbetween people and nature. Then according to the scale of people and leisure space,I put forward several typology of branches to develop the shape of central green.
