• Led UCLA to four NCAA Tournament appearances in the last seven seasons • Helped the Bruins advance to each of three consecutive NCAA Tournaments (2012-14) • Guided the Bruins to their first team trip to the NCAA Tournament in 2010 • Coached UCLA to a school-record 8th-place overall finish at NCAA Championships in 2012 • Saw UCLA’s varsity eight crew finish first in the Petite Final in the 2013 NCAA Championships • Responsible for the development of six first-team CRCA All-America selections • Has produced 22 CRCA All-West Region selections since the spring of 2002 • In 15 seasons as head coach, 53 Bruins have secured CRCA National Scholar-Athlete honors • Has seen her student-athletes secure 90 total Pac-12 All-Academic Team selections • Developed two three-time All-Pac-12 Team selections (Britta Syverson and Vanessa Teff) • Helped UCLA transition from club team to NCAA varsity status in 2001-02

Fuller Kearney enters her 16th season at the helm of the UCLA women’s rowing program in 2015-16 and has established the Bruins as a consistent national competitor. After making a successful transition from a club team to a varsity program in 2001-02, UCLA earned its first-ever team bid to the NCAA Championships in 2010. In addition, the Bruins advanced to the NCAA Championships in 2012, 2013 and 2014. UCLA’s three consecutive NCAA berths helped to produce consistently top marks and strong results for the women’s rowing program. In addition to three consecutive team appearances at NCAA Championships, UCLA has routinely been ranked among the nation’s top 15 programs in weekly CRCA collegiate polls. The Bruins have finished as high as third at Pac-12 Championships (2012) and have competed with resounding success at national events such as the San Diego Crew Classic and the Clemson Invitational. In 2014, UCLA finished 12th overall at the NCAA Championships, with the team’s second varsity eight finishing second in the Petite Final (eighth overall). The Bruins’ varsity eight crew advanced to the Grand Final at the San Diego Crew Classic and won each of its three races against the nation’s top competitors at the Clemson Invitational.

UCLA posted its two highest team finishes at the NCAA Championships in back-to-back seasons. The Bruins finished eighth in 2012 and were ninth in 2013. UCLA’s varsity eight crew finished first in the Petite Final (places 7-12) at each of those two NCAA Championships. Britta Syverson capped her four-year career in 2013 by becoming UCLA’s second three-time All-America selection, along with Vanessa Teff. The Bruins’ 2012 squad not only secured the program’s best-ever finish at NCAA Championships (eighth), but also raced to a third-place team finish at Pac-12 Championships, the highest such finish of any UCLA team at the season-culminating event. Not only did UCLA’s varsity eight finish first in the Petite Final at NCAA Championships, but the Bruins’ second varsity eight finished sixth in the Grand Final, and the varsity four was first in the Petite Final.

Fuller Kearney helped UCLA break into its first-ever NCAA Championships as a team in 2010, when the Bruins finished 12th overall at the national event. UCLA’s eight finished ninth at the 2010 NCAA Championships, placing higher than any Pac-12 program in the Petite Final. UCLA’s previous NCAA Championship appearances included varsity eight at-large selections in 2005, 2006 and 2007. The eight crew’s highest finish in that three-year span was a 12th-place finish in 2006. Fuller Kearney led the Bruins’ top two varsity eights to the Pac-10 Championship Grand Final from 2004 through 2007. UCLA’s second varsity eight won the silver medal in 2005 and 2006 at the Pac-10 Championships. Over the last eight seasons, Fuller Kearney has guided UCLA to a consistent place in the national rankings. UCLA has secured a ranking as high as No. 3 in 2012, No. 5 in 2013, No. 9 in 2014, No. 11 in 2010, No. 13 in 2008 and 2009, and No. 17 in 2011. The Bruins finished the 2014 campaign ranked No. 12 in the CRCA national poll. Upon conclusion of the 2009 season, UCLA’s Vanessa Teff was honored as an All-Pac-10 selection for the fourth consecutive season, becoming the first women’s rower in program history to accomplish that feat. In addition, Teff secured CRCA All-West Region honors. UCLA’s 2007 team earned an at-large varsity eight bid to NCAA Championships, where they finished 14th overall. The Bruins helped earn the at-large entry after finishing fourth overall at Pac-10 Championships in May. In 2006, the varsity eight raced to a 12thplace finish as an at-large selection to the NCAA Championships. Racing at the 2006 San Diego Crew Classic, UCLA advanced to the Grand Final in all three events and finished fifth in the varsity eight race. The Bruins made history in 2005, sending their first-ever varsity eight to NCAA Championships as an at-large bid. The Bruins’ crew finished 15th overall. Earlier that season, UCLA

advanced to the Grand Final in each event at Pac-10 Championships. The first eight raced to a top-16 ranking and an at-large invite to the NCAA Championships for the first time in program history. The second eight made history, bringing home a silver medal from the Pac-10 Championships, a first at UCLA since rowing was elevated to NCAA varsity status. Named UCLA’s head coach on July 2, 2001 – the sport’s inaugural NCAA season – Fuller Kearney came to Westwood after having served one year as assistant coach for the Stanford women’s crew program (2000-01). At Stanford, she guided the Cardinal to its first top-20 national ranking in the program’s NCAA history. Prior to serving as assistant coach at Stanford, Fuller Kearney was an assistant coach at San Diego State for two years (1998-2000). She worked with the Aztecs while training for the 2000 Olympics with the U.S. National Team. Fuller Kearney has also spent time working as an assistant coach at the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga (1996-98) and for the U.S. National Team (1997). From 1993-96, Fuller Kearney served as a motivational speaker for Champion International, a U.S. Rowing sponsor. She began her coaching career at UC Santa Barbara, her alma mater. From 1990-91, she led the women’s novice program. Two years later, from 1992-93, she was the head coach of the women’s team. A three-time Olympian and world record holder, Fuller Kearney has accrued a strong national and international rowing background. In 1993, she earned U.S. Rowing Female Athlete of the

Year honors. Two years later, she was a finalist for the Sullivan Award, presented annually to the nation’s top amateur athlete. She spent the fall and winter of 1995 competing with the America’s Cup Syndicate, America 3. She was a member of the first ever all-women’s team to challenge for the America’s Cup. As a starboard aft grinder, Fuller Kearney used her strength and endurance to earn a starting spot among the world’s top female sailors. In the spring and summer, Fuller Kearney again turned her focus to rowing and helped the women’s eight to a World Championship in Tampere, Finland. Fuller Kearney earned trips to the Olympics in 1992, 1996, and 2000. In 1992, she brought home a silver medal in the Women’s 4-. In 1996 and 2000, she placed in the top 6 in the Women’s 8+. Additionally, Fuller Kearney has competed in eight World Championships, earning one gold medal and six silver medals (1989, 1991, 1993-94, 1997-98 and 1999). An extension of Fuller Kearney’s international experience includes the Goodwill Games, the Lucerne International Regatta, and the Henley Royal Regatta. At the 1994 Goodwill Games, her women’s 8+ team captured the bronze. Competing at the Lucerne International Regatta (1991, 1994-96 and 1998), she brought home five medals – three gold, one silver, and one bronze. At the 1998 Henley Royal Regatta, Fuller Kearney added another gold medal.

Fuller Kearney continued her rowing success at the C.R.A.S.H. B Sprints. She was the 2000 and 2001 World Record holder on the rowing ergometer and placed first for open women. On the national level, Fuller Kearney rowed for the U.S. National Team for 11 years (1989, 1991-2000). During this era, she recorded 12 gold medals, two silver and one bronze. As a sophomore at UC Santa Barbara, Fuller Kearney discovered a passion for rowing. She later earned one gold medal and one bronze medal on the collegiate national level. In 1990, she was honored with the school’s Associated Students Athlete of the Year Award. In 2006, Fuller Kearney was an inaugural inductee into the UC Santa Barbara Recreational Sports Hall of Fame. A Westlake Village, Calif., native who prepped at Westlake High School, Fuller Kearney graduated from UC Santa Barbara in 1990 with a bachelor’s degree in biology. She earned her masters degree in education from University of Tennessee, Chattanooga in 1998. Fuller Kearney has also been certified by the American College of Sports Medicine as a Health Fitness Instructor and is a U.S. Rowing certified coach. Pac-12 Conference The Conference of Champions

ABOUT THE PAC-12 CONFERENCE Built on a firm foundation of academic excellence and superior athletic performance, the conference ushered in a new era on July 1, 2011, officially becoming the Pac-12 Conference with the additions of the University of Colorado and University of Utah. Just 27 days after the conference officially changed its name, Commissioner Larry Scott announced the creation of the Pac-12 Networks on July 27, 2011, solidifying a landmark television deal and putting the conference on the forefront of collegiate athletics. The Networks, including one national network, six regional networks, and a robust digital network, marked the first-ever integrated media company owned by a college conference. In addition, the “TV Everywhere” rights allow fans to access Pac-12 Networks outside the home on any digital device, including smartphones and tablet computers. On the field, the Pac-12 rises above the rest, upholding its tradition as the “Conference of Champions ®,” claiming an incredible 150 NCAA team titles since 1999-2000, including a nation-leading 10 in 201516, an average of nearly 10 championships per academic year. Even more impressive has been the breadth of the Pac-12’s success, with championships coming in 29 different men’s and women’s sports. The Pac-12 has led or tied the nation in NCAA

Championships in 51 of the last 56 years, the only exceptions being in 1980-81, 1988-89, 1990-91 and 1995-96 when the Conference finished second, and only twice finished third in 1998-99 and 2004-05. For the 11th consecutive year (in 2015-16), the Pac-12 had the most or tied for the most NCAA titles of any conference in the country, winning at least six every year since 2000-01. No other conference has won double-digit NCAA crowns in a single year, the Pac-12 doing so eight times, including a record 14 in 1996-97. Spanning nearly a century of outstanding athletics achievements, the Pac-12 was the first conference to reach 400 championships in 2010-11. With the inclusion of Colorado and Utah, the Conference surpassed another major milestone, with league teams capturing 450 titles, outdistancing the next conference by nearly 200. In all, Pac-12 teams have won 488 NCAA titles (295 men’s, 164 women’s, 29 combined). The Conference’s excellence is further proven in the annual Division I Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup competition, the prestigious award that honors the best overall collegiate athletics programs in the country. Stanford continued its remarkable run and won a remarkable 22nd consecutive Directors’

24

Cup in 2015-16 to lead the conference. Six Pac-12 member institutions ranked among the top-15 Division I programs and seven were in the top 25: No. 1 Stanford, No. 4 USC, No. 6 UCLA, No. 10 Oregon, No. 11 California, No. 14 Washington and No. 25 Arizona. At least five member institutions have been ranked in the top 20 in all but one year of the Director’s Cup program, with seven appearing in the top 20 on five different occations (1998, 2001, 2003, 2005 and 2006). The Pac-12’s 10 NCAA titles featured four men’s and six women’s crowns. Half the membership schools claimed at least one NCAA title and, of the seven institutions in the country to have won multiple titles, three were from the Pac-12. In addition to the 10 national championships, the Pac12 also had runners-up in 11 NCAA Championship events. Overall, the Conference had 38 teams finish in the top four at 22 NCAA Championship events, including three teams in the top four in men’s cros country, women’s golf and women’s water polo.

UCLA ATHLETICS GENE

BLOCK CHANCELLOR 10th Year Stanford ’70 Dr. Gene Block became chancellor of UCLA in August 2007 and enters his seventh year as the university’s chief executive officer. In his current capacity, Chancellor Block oversees all aspects of the university’s three-part mission of education, research and service. A champion of public universities, Chancellor Block has set four major priorities for UCLA during his administration: academic excellence, diversity, civic engagement and financial security. He has called for UCLA to deepen its engagement with the Los Angeles region and to increase access for students from underrepresented populations. Chancellor Block holds UCLA faculty appointments in psychiatry and bio-behavioral sciences in the David Geffen School of Medicine and in physiological science in the College of Letters and Science. He also heads a research laboratory on campus that is funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Previously, he served as vice president and provost of the University of Virginia. He holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Stanford University and a master’s and Ph.D. in psychology from the University of Oregon. Chancellor Block and his wife, Carol, have two adult children. The Blocks are avid Bruin fans and attend the competitions of various Bruin athletic programs.

DAN

GUERRERO ATHLETIC DIRECTOR 15th Year UCLA ’74 Fourteen years and 27 NCAA Championships later, Dan Guerrero’s mantra of ‘image and substance’ has clearly been established at a level that few others in his profession can approach. At the department’s helm when UCLA Athletics became the first to 100 NCAA team championships, the Bruins’ current total of 113 NCAA titles is a figure unmatched by any institution in the nation. While UCLA teams have won 27 NCAA championships since his appointment, another national leader, they have also finished second 26 times and have enjoyed an additional 49 Top Five finishes. In fact, more than 80 percent of UCLA teams have qualified for NCAA postseason competition since 2002. The football team has appeared in 12 bowl games and the men’s basketball team advanced to consecutive Final Fours from 2006-08 and has made five trips to the Sweet 16. The program has also won 62 conference championships in 15 different sports, produced over 600 All-America selections and featured eight Honda Award winners, including the 2003-04 Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year.

Guerrero, who earned the 2014 NACDA Under Armour Athletic Director of the Year award, is the only athletic director at the NCAA Division I level (FBS, FCS and NCAA Division I-AAA) to earn three such awards (2006-07 at UCLA, 2001-02 at UC Irvine). In his 14 years at UCLA, the Bruins have finished second four times (2005-06, 2006- 07, 2007-08 and 2014-15), third four times (2003-04, 2004-05, 2011-12 and 2012-13), fourth (2009-10), sixth (2002-03 and 2015-16), seventh (2013-14), 11th (2010-11) and 16th (2008-09) in the race for the Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup. In 2012-13, UCLA won its first Capital One Cup since its inception in 2010-11, taking home the title in men’s sports by vaulting to the top of the standings by claiming the 2013 College World Series. In 2011-12, both men (3rd) and women (2nd) finished in the top three, while in 2013-14, UCLA finished second in the Capital One Cup women’s standings, having captured national titles in both women’s soccer and tennis. The UCLA women finished 10th in the 2014-15 Capital One Cup, giving UCLA three Top 10 finishes in the last four years on both the men’s and women’s side. During the 2015-16 season, men’s water polo captured its second consecutive and 10th overall NCAA title, and six other UCLA teams finished among the Top 5 nationally: beach volleyball (3rd), women’s water polo (3rd), women’s golf (T-3rd), men’s volleyball (T-3rd), gymnastics (5th), and men’s tennis (T-5th). Additionally, the women’s basketball team advanced to the NCAA Tournament “Sweet 16” for the first time since 1999, and the football team played in a bowl game for the fourth time in head coach Jim Mora’s fouryear tenure. And when everything was said and done, 66 student-athletes earned All-America honors, and 81 earned selection to various all-conference teams. Overall, with Guerrero at the helm, UCLA teams have captured the following NCAA team titles: six in women’s water polo, three each in men’s water polo, women’s softball and women’s gymnastics, two in women’s golf and women’s tennis, and one each in women’s soccer, men’s tennis, men’s volleyball, women’s volleyball, men’s golf, men’s soccer, women’s outdoor track and baseball. The Bruins have recorded 42 additional national podium finishes in that span. Guerrero came to UCLA from UC Irvine, where he had served as UCI’s fifth permanent Director of Athletics for 10 years (1992-2002), helping to elevate that program to unprecedented success. Prior to arriving at UCI, Guerrero worked at Cal State Dominguez Hills, where he led that program to national prominence while serving as Athletic Director for five years (1988-92). A proud alumnus of UCLA, Guerrero received his Bachelor’s degree from the University in 1974 and played second base for the Bruins for four years. Known as “Warrior” during his playing career, he was inducted into the UCLA Baseball Hall of Fame in 1996. The Bruin Athletic Director earned a Master’s degree in Public Administration in 1982 from Cal State Dominguez Hills and was named to the Pi Alpha Alpha Honor Society for Public Affairs and Public Policy that same year. Guerrero was raised in Wilmington, Calif. He is married to the former Anne Marie Aniello, and they have two grown daughters.

UCLA’s success has not just been confined to North America. In just the past two Summer Olympic Games alone, 80 Bruin athletes and coaches have represented their respective countries, bringing home 20 medals in all, 14 of which were gold – a total most countries can only dream of.
