In 2011 southwest Detroit was host to a new lineup of development projects, community planning initiatives, and opportunities to shape the social and physical landscape of the neighborhood for the future, thereby creating considerable opportunity for community building and engagement. This Capstone project investigates leveraging these opportunities through communications strategies for organizing and engaging a diverse group of residents in the Springwells neighborhood in Detroit MI.
