The Kera association of Gračanica was established in 2006 with the aim of protecting the art of kera a type of lacemaking, kera constitutes one of the oldest traditional handicrafts practiced in the municipality of Gračanica (pronounced ‘Grachanitsa’) as well as elsewhere in bosnia and herzegovina. It has long been considered a timeless and priceless expression of female artistry in the country. however,kera has preserved its original form and technique only in the Gračanica region where it has both survived and continued to thrive thanks to the hard work of the enthusiasts gathered around the Kera association of Gračanica.
