If there's one thing that never ceases to amaze me, it's the human propensity to not recognise the blindingly obvious. Case in point: the mysterious 'vein' of rock photographed recently by NASA's Opportunity Rover (see news item and image, page 15). This mysterious 'vein' has got NASA researchers excited, but they're still not sure quite why yet. Apart from the fact that the formation is extremely unusual, they have decided that the vein was somehow caused by water action. This is big news. It took a ridiculously long time for scientists to finally agree and accept that Mars had water in places other than the frozen poles, but finally, at long last, they are admitting that not only did Mars have water all over the place, but in large enough amounts that it could affect geology. Unfortunately, however, we've never seen water affect geology quite like this. This mysterious 'vein' of rock looks suspiciously like a row of evenly spaced paving stones poking up out of the Martian sand. Although weathered and cracked by the passage oft time, these paving stones are completely different in colour, shape, texture and composition to the stony terrain they are surrounded by. They are uniformly rectangular, uniformly sized, have 90-degree angles at every corner, straight edges, are placed in a perfect straight line, and are spaced evenly apart. While we know that Nature can and does produce pattern and uniformity, and that geologic processes can produce sharp and decorative angles and even very straight lines, we also know that water does not produce these kinds of patterns. Water is fluid, unpredictable, and weathers irregularly. It takes only a single glance at this line of 'brickwork' to understand that it is more than likely artificial, and not the result of water action in Mars's remote past. So, we find ourselves back at the beginning - when will scientists recognise what is sitting right before their eyes? At the macro level they aren't willing to concede that the larger constructs on Mars (ie, the 'Face', the pyramids, the domes etc) could be the result of intelligent design, and here we find ourselves at the micro level -- with bricks poking up out of the sand -- and they still aren't willing to concede. It doesn't take a Sherlock Holmes to understand that '‌when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.' I don't know about you, but I'm with Sherlock.

Cania Gorge, August 4 2011, 4.15pm My wife and I were recently taking a holiday at The Big 4 Resort at Cania Gorge, north of Monto in Queensland. At approximately 4-15pm Thursday August 4th, we were taking a walk at the highest point in the Resort. I took the below photo using my Nikon Coolpix P90 Camera. I was primarily interested in the rocky gorge wall seen in the picture. At the time I did not see or hear anything unusual. It was only when I returned home, downloaded all of my pictures onto my computer and began deleting those ever present duds that the dark object seen above the gorge wall became evident. As the Coolpix P90 has 12.1MP picture capacity the image can be enlarged to provide better resolution. As you will no doubt discover when you examine the dark object more closely, it is not a bird, aircraft or other instantly recognizable flying object. I would welcome your opinion.

Mermaid Waters, September 6/7 2011, 7.00pm Just wanted to let you know that on about the 6th/7th September I witnessed four UFOs over the hinterland from my

AugusT - ocToBeR 2011

Mermaid Waters residence. There were three in a triangle formation heading north and then they turned south. They were quite a distance back, but followed the same direction. This happened between 7.00 and 8.00pm.

Reynella SA, September 17 2011 Last night I went to get something out of my car. I looked up into the sky to see a sight I have never seen before. We have a lot of planes fly over us and the sky was clear. I saw a flashing light that was making slight movements in the sky. I quickly raced inside to get my camera. In the first clip (Youtube links below) you can hear and see a passenger plane and see the UFO. The UFO mainly flashes white and blue, flickering rapidly then blinking on and off. There were several times where I could see a flash of red and a strange reflection (as if the light was glowing against a cloud, but there were no clouds). I tried zooming and focusing but I had trouble focusing on the object (I stopped recording several times to adjust my camera settings). The object moved out of sight so I went around the backyard for a better view. All I could hear was the wind blowing.

I felt that maybe this could be a kite at a nearby park so I went for a drive. It then became obvious that this object was at a far distance into the sky. There were many times where the object moved quickly from one place to another (I zoomed out so you can see a reference object such as a light post, trees). After a few minutes driving I pulled over on a quiet street and continued to film. Eventually the object shot down and out of sight. I have uploaded the clips to YouTube unedited: http://www.youtube.com/ watch?v=eqrFLnsl1zM - great example of fast movement; http:// www.youtube.com/ watch?v=7kTMavdjWqM - first sighting near a plane; http:// w w w. y o u t u b e . c o m / w a t c h ? v = U 2 6 baOQtx-I - you can see red lights at 24 and 42 seconds

I wish to report the sighting of a bright orange light in the sky at Warner Qld at approximately 11.50pm 29 September 2011. The object travelled from south to north for about eight minutes, getting dimmer. I called my son to see it too, and he said he thought it was just a very bright (and silent) aircraft. But it had no other lights, such as flashing red or green navigation lights or landing lights you would expect to see at this close range, I disagree but he can a least confirm the sighting. I believe it was not helicopter as it was relatively close yet silent. It was significantly brighter than the aircraft with landing lights we see

ufO encounter

going to Brisbane airport and which regularly fly over our house. We both had time to observe it through my 15x70 binoculars and no other lights could be seen with these. This very bright object did not follow normal routes of aircraft landing or taking off, which is why I first noticed it through the almost closed blinds from our lounge room window. I only report this sighting today as I saw a similar bright orange but stationary light in the SSE sky on a semi-cloudy night about two months ago at around 10.45pm (the first such object I have ever seen in my life) which I did not report. The object was so bright it illuminated the surrounding clouds it silently hovered in.

Location unknown, October 4 2011 Last night, October 4 2011, I was outside enjoying nature when I noticed what I thought was a satellite. The path it was following was straight at first, then it seemed to run out of fuel and proceeded to cough and sputter across the sky from low in the southwest to far off and high in the northeast. It looked liked a cartoon spaceship running out of fuel - I kid you not. This lasted around two minutes or so and there was no sound. When it was nothing more than another star in the eastern sky a jet flew overhead (again from the southwest) in a direct line, loud and obvious, toward the point. Ten to fifteen minutes later a shooting star shot from east to northwest and died out in the atmosphere. These three things were all

separate and completely different in sound, size and speed. The second thing was definitely a jet and the third thing was (characteristically) an ordinary shooting star. Any ideas on what that first thing was??

Fraser Island 2007, reported August 2011 We received an interesting report in August from a man who was moored off Fraser Island four years ago. He was with his wife and another couple in their boat and it was sometime between 8.00 to 9.00pm. They were 200 to 300 yards (180 to 270 metres) off the beach and could see three small lights moving along the beach. Two of the lights seemed to be meeting up with the other one which was more stationary. When all the lights finally came together about 40 seconds later, the four witnesses observed a saucer-shaped object rise off the beach taking off into the sky at a 15 degree angle, then rising to pass over their boat about 50ft (15 metres) away and 30ft (9 metres) above them. The main witness described being able to see inside the object which was lit up a ‘lettuce-green colour,’ but could not see any occupants. Externally, the middle of the object was spinning and turned slowly, revolving once every four seconds. The top of the object ‘appeared like glass’ and the top ‘cabin’ tapered to the centre. The lower part of the object was metallic looking but did not reflect any light. Witnesses heard no sound during their observation which was for less than 30 seconds. They were amazed!

Highgate Hill, February and May 2011, reported September 2011 The event that I am about to describe occurred between February and May of this year, 2011. Of the exact date I am unsure; this year so far has flown, and in all honesty I actually tried to forget that it ever happened. It was in the early hours of the morning, well before dawn, and certainly after midnight (I am rarely in bed before then). My best guess would be sometime around 2.00 or 3.00am. I had awoken to answer the call of nature. My partner and I live in a Granny Flat being a closed off and walled in front verandah of an old colonial house. A visit to the bathroom requires one to go outside and walk around and under the house, as this is where the toilet is located. As I walked down the slope along the side of the house, I paused for a moment to take in the beauty of the night. The stars were shining brightly and a few bands of clouds reflected the moonlight. It was at this moment that I noticed something quite unusual. To the southwest of me (from my location at Highgate Hill) I spotted a large spherical object coming out from between two bands of cloud, maybe ten or fifteen kilometres away, moving very slowly in an easterly direction. It seemed quite large; the best visual comparison that I could make was with a globe, slightly larger than a soccer ball, at about eight meters. To one’s perspective, it was bigger than the moon or the sun, so I conclude that it was not a weather balloon. It made no sound, and gave off no light; in fact it was more like an absence of something than the presence of something. To my partner I described it as ‘a big black ball of nothing, moving through the clouds’. After about thirty seconds, I was overcome with a feeling of guilt, as if I had just seen something I shouldn’t have; the same kind of feeling you’d get after walking in on someone in the shower. I proceeded to the toilet, and then went back to bed. The following morning, I tried to explain the experience to my partner, however, struggling to make an adequate description of what I had seen, committed myself to forget the whole thing, and left it at that. Until a few days ago, when I found an image of an orb UFO, which reminded me of what I had seen. Some images and footage of orb UFOs are similar, however, not the same as they all seem to have light and colour associated with them, and they all seem to be seen from a greater distance than what I saw. I am interested to know if anyone else in Brisbane/Southeast Queensland (or anywhere else in the world, for that matter) has seen anything similar.

VANISHING

SAUCERS Rex Gilroy © 2011

On Wednesday 18th December 2001, I made a lone hike out to the far end of Narrow Neck Plateau. At the time I was concerned about rumours leaking out from high places that the whole of Narrow Neck Plateau might be barred to the general public. This happily came to nothing, yet with so many strange occurrences happening out there in that scrubby wilderness south-west of Katoomba, it would have come as no surprise to me. Only a few weeks before my visit a number of military vehicles with Australian soldiers had descended on the ‘Neck’ and Air Force helicopters had been seen to land out there. Campers staying out at the far end of the ‘Neck’ claimed to have heard loud drilling and blasting sounds coming from somewhere below the cliffs, and there had been a number of mysterious objects reported seen flying about, both day and night over Burragorang Valley and coming too and from Megalong Valley over the Wild Dog Mountains. Arriving at the far end at 1pm, I proceeded to take off my backpack and sit down on the cliff edge under some bushes admiring the view as I ate my sandwiches. It was then that I began hearing the loud sounds of helicopters but failed to see them anywhere. Then at 2.22pm far out across the wide expanse of the Burragorang Valley, directly over the ‘Base’ area, with the aid of my binoculars I spotted a small black-coloured light aircraft, flying from west to east about clifftop level out in the valley. I watched as it flew over the gullies from where so many strange objects have been seen to emerge from or descend into over the years. Then, suddenly as it reached a point in the

ufO encounter

middle of the valley, it just vanished into thin air, like a “light being switched off”. It was that sudden! However, and this is the most interesting point, the engine could still be heard! It was now that I remembered the sounds of the unseen helicopters. Still puzzling over these events, as I scanned the vast Burragorang vista before me, I spotted at 2.57pm a silver disc, very large, descending below the eastern escarpment of the Kanangra Boyd wilderness far to the south-west of the valley. This was in the region where I was lost overnight in July 1999, a region that I can state with authority, is virtually inaccessible! The craft quickly vanished into a gully of supposed dense forest and granite rock formations. Obviously there is a landing site out there, well camouflaged. Meanwhile I could hear approaching from the north up the Megalong Valley the sound of another helicopter. It is at the very end of Narrow Neck Plateau that the Megalong and Burragorang Valleys meet, with the Wild Dog Mountains extending out to the southwest. This helicopter which I now spotted passing barely a couple of hundred yards off the end of the ‘Neck’ where I was standing, proceeded to circle around into the Burragorang side, to pass over the top of the summit to the east and about 50ft [15m] above ground level. It made a complete circle and it was then that I could see a man at an open door filming me with a video camera. The helicopter moved off eastwards around the cliffs out of sight. I settled back to observing the scenery. It was then that two more things happened. Far across the valley my binoculars clearly

picked up eight camouflage-coloured Australian Army helicopters, moving in formation over the ‘Base’ location, hovering there perhaps 60m above the gullies, then moving off in different directions they moved separately in a wide circle over the valley’s central area, then after about 20 minutes all returned to the previous position over the ‘Base’. While these movements were being carried out, the helicopter that had earlier circled above me re-appeared, flying from the north up Megalong Valley. This time the craft stopped while the cameraman reappeared to film in my direction. I waved but there was no response. Instead the craft moved slowly around the cliffs to the north side to once more hover, then circle over the summit to pass around me as I stood, now realising that they were taking particular interest in me as I was observing the goings-on in the valley to the south. The helicopter’s manoeuvres were certainly intimidating, as if encouraging me to leave the place, but I stayed. All this time I had not thought to pick up my camera, and doing so was able to snap a couple of shots of the helicopter as it suddenly moved off at top speed eastwards around the cliff. Then, looking north in the direction of the distant bushfire spotting tower, I could see the aircraft flying over the plateau into Megalong Valley, from there it once more passed along the western cliffs, this time ignoring me to head out over the Burragorang Valley. As I watched through the binoculars, it eventually joined up with the eight helicopters still hovering in formation over the ‘Base’, then all flew off to the southwest to disappear behind mountains at

7

Other roads branch off to had heard at the beginning of this military establishments which exist at adventure. I then recalled the day in 1999 intervals throughout the entire when I met up with a soldier with Burragorang-Wollemi-Newnes sectors, blackened face, dressed in camouflage as well as along the roads that lead to gear holding an automatic rifle with back the Wollongong-Central Coast pack, out on the plateau road. All the way complexes. Some campers have been I realised that they had been operating fired upon and others who have entered around the very location of the ‘Base’. that zone have just’ disappeared’ without On another occasion some months later, while walking out to the end of the ‘Neck’, I came upon a group of Naval officer cadets resting with their full packs and rifles on the roadside. I got talking to them and asked them where they had been camping. At this, one of the group said

trace. As this article has already revealed, there is work going on ‘down there’ that the authorities concerned do not want anyone to know about, and this sector of the underground world seems largely concerned with the development of time-

travel technology. If they can make planes and helicopters disappear, then they can do the same with people. The technological advances being developed ‘down there’ are incredible and far beyond our known present-day space technology. That this is of ET origin seems the only explanation to UFOlogists. And if of ET origin, it is still a mystery as to how it was obtained. Is it possible that, while the world’s foremost space scientists have been denying for years, that there have been any messages received from super-civilisations elsewhere in our galaxy, that such contacts have occurred, which in some way has enabled specially chosen scientists to make quantum leaps, centuries ahead of our present state of technology? Besides the ability to construct spacecraft, could these scientists have already sent astronauts into space, even to Mars? Rumours do persist that ‘someone’ from Earth has already been there and that NASA has had a colony established on Mars since the 1980s! Whatever super-civilisation in our galaxy, or elsewhere in the Universe is responsible for imparting all this advanced technological information [if this theory be true], they surely possess the means by which they are able to “play with time”, to manipulate it any way they wish, for they are able to undertake voyages across the eternal vastness of space reaching planetary destinations perhaps in the time it takes us to walk through a door! In other words, they

The west side of Jamieson Valley, beneath the first ‘arm’ of Narrow Neck Plateau, is the location of an “invisible door” into which UFOs vanish as if into solid rock! employ “windows in time”. By the same means, in order to hide a secret weapons base, such as one employing extra-terrestrial technology, it would be possible to hide it by placing it in another time zone. By this means bases such as that in the Burragorang and other valleys throughout the Blue Mountains, would be impossible for search parties to find. Indeed, the applications for such “time windows” technology would be limitless. It is not unlikely that this technology is already being employed elsewhere. Such a technology would be of immense value to any world power, such as the United States, or could help even to turn any small country even Australia, into a world power overnight. For not only would super-weapons undreamt of be available to that people; with the advanced “time window” technology troops, ships, aircraft etc could [theoretically] be placed on another time zone in a combat situation, making them invisible, and moved into positions by which the enemy would be out-manoeuvred! The “Time Lords” of today’s science fiction will one day become science fact; that is if they do not already exist in some top-secret laboratory, as is suggested in this article. I believe that what I witnessed out there at the end of Narrow Neck Plateau was part of an experiment in making aircraft and troops temporarily invisible. It is by employing “time windows” that extra-terrestrial spacecraft and their occupants are able to visit Earth, or anywhere in the vastness of space, in comparatively short time periods. And it

ufO encounter

is due to spacecraft moving in and out of such ‘windows’ that they have often been seen to just ‘appear’ as if out of nowhere, and vanish by the same means. And by means of technological advances beyond our present understanding [unless already imparted to certain scientists in secret military establishments in Australia and elsewhere], these beings are able to move backwards and forwards in time; they have accomplished time-travel beyond the wildest dreams of that world famous science fiction writer H.G.Wells. By this means, if these theories be correct, people in our future having accomplished time-travel, could theoretically come back to visit us. Could this already have happened and our military and those scientists, armed with the knowledge imparted by these visitors, are making quantum leaps to technological development of the kind already suggested? All these fantastic propositions may sound preposterous to some. “Impossible possibilities” to be sure, but possibilities nonetheless! ***** “Windows in time” are a worldwide phenomenon, but these appear to be rather sporadic, judging from overseas reports. It seems certain that nowhere else in the world at this writers’ present knowledge is there a region to rival the many mysterious time-travel experiences that have been reported from the Katoomba-Burragorang region of the Blue Mountains of New South Wales.

Whatever the technology employed to create the phenomenon, periodically it seems one or more of these ‘windows’ seem to be present in the Katoomba area, in particular out on Narrow Neck Plateau, and in the Burragorang Valley one great ‘window’ appears to move in a wave-like pattern from west to east and back again. This means that wherever a ‘window’ is at a given time, it is possible for one or more individuals to step back in time, as suggested by the case histories already reported The great Burragorang ‘window’ may not only cover the full width of the valley, even penetrating the Katoomba area, it also appears to extend high above the earth, judging by the many UFOs observed hereabouts by eyewitnesses over the years, that suddenly appear from “out of nowhere” about cloud level or vanish in a flash. And wherever the invisible “window in time” is situated at different times, UFOs have been seen to appear or disappear in that area. For example, during the UFO ‘flap’ period in 1999, people out on Kanangra Walls puzzled at two silver discs that appeared “out of the blue”, seemingly “out of nowhere” as they remarked, about 12 noon one day in January. The objects flew eastwards over the Burragorang. A week later, in the Katoomba area, hikers on the Prince Henry Cliff Walk reported to me that they had witnessed a “brightly glowing orange saucer-like craft”, just appear from nowhere high in the sky beneath cloud level, to zoom silently northwards over Leura about 3pm. Similarly, a work party out on Warragamba dam at the eastern end of

9

the valley, on February 2nd, all stopped what they were doing, to watch a silvery object which just seemed to “switch on” hovering high over the dam’s backwaters. Other craft have been seen to descend slowly, or zoom at incredible speeds into the Jamieson Valley where they just disappear, like a light being switched off. They fly into hills and mountainsides where no visible entrances await them. This phenomenon has been observed day and night over many years in the Burragorang, Jamieson and Megalong Valleys as well as in the Wollemi wildernesses, the craft appearing to pass through solid rock, presumably to subterranean bases. If eyewitnesses to these events are to be believed, then we are dealing with an ET space travel technology far beyond anything we can imagine. The apparent ‘invisible doors’ into which these craft enter, and also depart from, defy conventional logic and are yet one more example of the kind of technology possessed by the ETs with whom American space scientists appear to be involved. One such ‘invisible door’ appears as a great square outline on a Jamieson Valley gum forest covered gully slope. The trees within this square formation appear younger, and therefore nowhere near the height of the older gumtrees surrounding the formation. Since the 1980s there have been numerous sightings by local residents living along Cliff Drive, of ‘light balls’ of colours ranging from yellow, silver to orange and red, moving erratically either

high above Jamison Valley or else moving low above the gullies, to suddenly vanish into any one of several ‘invisible doors’ located in various rocky forested gully slopes, including the one just described. Yet not only light balls vanish into these ‘invisible doors’, for larger UFOs have been claimed seen to enter them. One such sighting was that of a bright greenglowing ‘saucer-type’ craft, seen by a Mr Paul Martin and his girlfriend as they stood looking into Jamieson Valley from Cahill’s Lookout, on the night of October 20th 1999. “We were admiring the moonlit valley at around 11.30pm. There were some large clouds to the west moving in our direction and it was from out of one of these that we spotted a large, greenglowing saucer-like object emerging, to descend to the south of us at great speed before hovering over Mt Solitary. From there it moved northwards in our direction, but quickly descended until it was coasting across the Jamieson Valley. As we watched, it stopped before a high forest slope, then to our astonishment, it just seemed to zap itself into the slope. Nobody believes our story, but we know we didn’t imagine it all. “We reckoned that the flying saucer was 15 metres wide and maybe 6 or 8 metres in depth from where we stood about a kilometre away”, Paul informed me in a phone call some months later. The gully slope into which the ‘saucer’ disappeared was the great square forest outline previously described. The RAAF Base at Richmond knows a lot, but of course will always remain tightlipped about such incidents.

Stories do however leak out. A former RAAF pilot told me in 1970 that, one day in January 1969 a shining disc-like craft was reported seen by many people hovering over Scone. It then flew off at great speed southward over Denman, before coasting slowly high over the Wollemi wilderness. By now two jets from Williamtown RAAF Base are said to have been dispatched to intercept the craft. When the crew of the mystery craft failed to respond to radio calls to identify itself, they fired at the craft, which just disappeared into thin air! In another incident that took place over the Kurrajong area in June 1977, a number of eyewitnesses reported a strange golden-shining disc-shaped craft flying over their town heading west about 3pm. Two jets were scrambled from Richmond RAAF Base, but as they approached the craft, by now moving over Hartley Valley on the west side of the Blue Mountains, it had slowed down and was turning in the direction of Oberon. Then, as the jets closed in it vanished without trace in mid-air, leaving the startled pilots dumbfounded. Similarly, in September 1978 a group of six reddish-coloured ‘saucers’ were reported seen by numbers of people, flying in formation over Denman at cloud level heading in a south-west direction. They were seen approaching Kandos, where they vanished in an instant, “as if they flew through an invisible curtain” said one eyewitness. These, and many more incidents, that take place within the boundaries of the “Blue Mountains Triangle”, whether connected with the vast underground world beneath those wilds, or else involving craft from across the vast reaches of space, only add to the great mystery that enshrouds this region, for the authors believe there are other phenomena not connected with the underground operations, phenomena which have been part of the Blue Mountains since their formation in geological times. As these phenomena have been responsible for the disappearance of aircraft, even people over generations, they deserve close attention. HELP!

SOME OF OUR PINEAPPLES ARE MISSING! Lee Paqui © 2010 A unique collection of landforms clusters against the south-east Queensland coastline. Volcanic plugs estimated to be over twenty million years old, the Glasshouse Mountains (so-called because to Captain Cook, as he first approached Australia from the south Pacific, they reminded him of the glasshouses of his Yorkshire home) mark a transition zone. Things get a little strange from here-on in. We may wonder if the long months at sea had affected Cook’s brain, as it is fairly clear that these mountains look nothing like glasshouses. But then, as now, they are a beacon for visitors. Every year, tourists by the thousands flock to experience their beauty, some visitors travelling thousands of lightyears for the pleasure. Ever since settlement – and certainly for thousands of years before –

ufO encounter

strange things have been seen in this area and its surrounds: Yowies, Bunyips (a half-bird, half-seal creature that prowls creeks and ponds), the supposedly extinct Tasmanian Tiger, and, out at sea, monsters of a completely unknown kind have been surfacing for years. It won’t surprise, then, to learn that the area surrounding the Glasshouse Mountains is a one of Australia’s UFO hotspots, with UFOs, strange lights and other curious phenomena reported with surprising regularity. Balls of orange or white light are the most frequently reported UFO in the area – these balls of light usually appear singly, but also in triangular, boomerang, or straight-line formations, and occasionally they are seen travelling in clusters of up to 20 or more objects. But while glowing balls of light dominate, there have been a number of far more unusual objects and phenomena sighted as well. In 1998, a man living on a hill overlooking the town of Burpengary reported two circular patches of light – one white, the other orange – moving across the ground, each having a diameter of around a kilometre. A year later, three campers on Bribie Island witnessed a glowing green object at midnight that ‘turned the night into day.’ The object was circular and hovered just above the ocean and, when it lit up, the sea and the nearby town of Caloundra were illuminated for about eight seconds. Green lights were also seen at Bundaberg, some distance north, in 2004, when a man

witnessed a green ball of light the size of a car glide silently over his ninemetre high shed. He watched it travel slowly down his driveway towards a nearby creek, where it disappeared. In early 2000, a Caloundra resident reported an object that looked like ‘castles joined together,’ and estimated to be about the size of four football fields, hovering in the sky. Ten years earlier a driver outside Rockhampton saw a cigar-shaped object at least two stories high hovering just above the tree-line. He stopped his car and watched as the object glided silently above him at a height of 20 metres, close enough that he observed it to be made of a seamless metal that was bright orange in colour. The object had windows that were completely black and unusually shaped, and what looked like ‘landing pods’ underneath. In 2007 a married couple witnessed an oval object the size of a football field hovering over Burpengary. It was brightly lit, red on the bottom and white on top, and tilted itself on an angle before disappearing. Night hunters, campers and 4-wheel drivers seem to be best placed to witness the strange nocturnal goings-

11

on in the area. In 1985 a party of hunters were camped outside Bundaberg when they witnessed a large object the size of two houses hovering about 100 metres above grassland. As the witnesses watched, the object brightened and then dropped closer to the ground. The UFO was described a bowl-shaped on top and with a slight curve to its bottom, and with a diamond-pattern running across its surface that glowed orange and blue, like a flame, that pulsated slightly. The object remained in this position for about seventy minutes, after which it moved into the sky and disappeared. A group of 4-wheel drivers witnessed a capsule-shaped (Generation Y’s term for ‘cigar-shaped’?) object the size of a petrol tanker hovering above some nearby trees as they drove through bushland. It emitted a low humming noise and glowed faintly, and was estimated by the witnesses to be near enough to hurl a rock at. After a few minutes the object tilted forward and ‘drifted’ towards a nearby ridge. The four witnesses followed in their vehicles, but by the time they reached the ridge the object had gone, along with the humming sound it had been emitting. Perhaps the most disturbing aspect of this phenomenon are the appearances of UFOs along highways, and the fear they can instil in unsuspecting drivers. In 1999, a man driving along the Bruce Highway reported an orange object passing about 30 metres above him. The object was small, about 60 centimetres in diameter, and had a well-defined edge but no surface features whatsoever. In 2001 a woman travelling at night towards BliBli pulled off the road to allow a brightly-lit car behind her to overtake. However, instead of overtaking, the lights behind her moved backwards and metamorphosed into a crescentshape before disappearing. In 2007, a married couple were spooked on their way home from an evening out when a white light travelled parallel to their car as they drove past an adjacent field. And in 2009 a bright white light followed a young woman’s car as she drove along the road towards Cooloola. It followed her for a considerable distance at tree-top height, only veering away when another vehicle approached in the opposite direction.

12

The long stretch of road between Tin Can Bay and Gympie has been the sight of more than one unearthly encounter over the years. Most recently, in 2007, a man on his way to work in Gympie at 5.25am one morning had just passed the Toolara Forest Barracks when a bright white light appeared in his rearview mirror. Thinking it was a motorcycle, he was surprised to see the light close the distance of about one and half kilometres between them in the space of a few seconds, particularly as the witness was at that point speeding along in his own vehicle at the prescribed road speed of 100 kilometres per hour. Assuming the ‘motorcyclist’ behind him to have a death-wish, the witness was not surprised when the light moved around and appeared in his side mirror, and it looked as though the ‘motorcyclist’ was about to overtake him on the road – despite a logging truck that had appeared on the bend ahead of them, travelling at speed in the opposite direction. Expecting to be witness to a horrific accident, the witness was appalled to see the light pull alongside him and suddenly rise up into the sky as the truck barrelled past unimpeded on the opposite side of the road. Despite what he had just seen, the witness still could not believe his eyes and travelling home that evening he searched the treetops along the road, half expecting to find a motorcycle lodged in the branches overhead. UFOs aren’t the only items of high strangeness to be reported from this

part of Australia. In 2004 a girl walking her dog along the shore at Burrum Heads was surprised to find a strange being standing about fifty metres ahead of her. The being was described as glowing a ‘magnificent’ red and stood on two long legs as it watched her approach. The being was estimated to be about two metres tall, though it had a short torso and a smallish head. As the girl and the being observed each other, the dog became agitated and began growling at the creature, so the girl turned tail and ran. In 2008 a young man driving in rural Curramore was startled to see a humanoid creature standing in a fork in the road. The witness described it as being about one and half metres tall, with extremely thin legs, arms and trunk. He described its waist as tiny, and its head as overly large, much larger than a human head. The creature was completely black, as if it had jet black skin or was wearing a tight black outfit. It seemed startled by the headlights of the car and stood still for a moment, staring at the driver, before abruptly vanishing. If you think all this is weird, well, it gets even weirder. In fact, downright unexplainable. In the 1980s a gentleman driving on a hill at Rockhampton at dusk saw something in the sky so unbelievable that he had to stop his car to check his eyes. There appeared to be a long, straight ‘split’ in the sky about five kilometres away, that seemed to be ‘leaking’ a ‘phosphorescent ooze.’ The witness moved higher up a small ridge in an

Pineapple plantation at the foot of the Glasshouse Mountains.

ufO encounter

attempt to see the ‘split’ better, but was still unable to determine what it was. Part of the ‘split’ in the sky was obscured behind a nearby range of hills, which helped him to provide an approximate distance. Another inexplicable event that has gained some notoriety is the farmer who claimed his pineapple tops were stolen by aliens. For those unfamiliar with their cultivation, pineapples are propagated by removing the leafy tops from the fruit and planting them in soil. Farmers will stockpile their pineapple tops until planting time, amassing them in the tens of thousands. The area around the Glasshouse Mountains is prime pineapple territory, with a number of plantations butting up against the bases of the mountains. In this particular instance, the farmer’s entire stock of pineapple tops was stolen in the space of one night, and with no visible means of their removal. Before we blame another farmer as the likely suspect, a number of large trucks would be required to remove the amount of pineapple tops in question, and it would take several hours of loading and a lot of manpower to facilitate the theft. In this case there were no trucks, no workmen, no sounds of heavy machinery, no nothing. The thieves

Could a secret pineapple plantation be hidden beneath the Glasshouse Mountains?

would have needed to pass by the farmhouse with all their trucks (or, if they had only one truck, have gone back and forth a few times), which patently did not happen. Locals have been witnessing strange lights going into and out of Mount Tibrogargan for decades, and it has been repeatedly speculated that a UFO base is located beneath it. The pineapple farmer in question was certain that his pineapple tops had been stolen by a UFO and were currently growing in greenhouses beneath the mountain to feed the inhabitants of the base. It might not be so absurd to consider this scenario – for decades local residents have reported that, on quiet nights, loud

sounds can be heard echoing beneath the ground. This author has heard the sounds in question and is at a loss to explain them. They are long, slow booming sounds with a slight metallic edge to them. The sounds may be a natural phenomenon – the area was once volcanic but is entirely inactive now, and it is possible that lava tubes may riddle the subterranean landscape. Perhaps the sea enters them at some point and sets up an echoing reverberation. Perhaps it’s a network of natural tunnels waiting for somebody or something to use them. In which case… maybe the locals are right, and there is a bustling alien base buried right beneath their feet.

COVER-UP ON UFOS http://www.news24.com/SciTech/News/ Cover-up-on-UFOs-20111017

The UFO phenomenon is real and becoming harder to cover up, an author has said. “There are just too many quality sightings recorded by witnesses that need to be taken into account - people like presidents, people of high education that have seen things,” Wayne Herschel, author of The Hidden Records and the Cosmic Tree told News24. He said that human ancestry is tied to extraterrestrial beings from a distant star system and UFOs have been seen and depicted since ancient times. “Every single human being is a descendant of those that colonised this world and my book shows you the star maps. This matches all the ancient records of the flying hats and the modern even are being more frequently seen because everybody’s carrying around a camera,” he said. Mainstream researchers generally accept that unexplained phenomena are seen in the sky, but do not accept that these are linked to travellers from outer space. Herschel insisted that it would only be a matter of time before there was irrefutable evidence for alien beings visiting Earth. “We’re getting a lot of good snippets from time to time, but there hasn’t been anything really breaking that has been filmed that we can say is 100% yet. I think it’s probably a matter of time.” Astronomers told News24 that many observers who see strange objects in the sky may mistake clouds, unusually bright planets and even aircraft for UFOs. “Big culprits here are Venus and Jupiter in particular, since they can be quite bright at times. Venus sometimes appears very bright in west shortly after sunset. At other times it’s very bright in the east a few hours or so before sunrise. Also when a bright planet is low in the atmosphere is twinkles more than usual, and can appear to change colour rapidly. Sometime people describe it as ‘being on fire’,” said

14

former SAAO astronomer Dr Enrico Olivier. Hershel disputed that astronomers had the capacity to examine the entire night sky. “If you look at astronomers’ point of vision: Wherever they are looking, they’re looking at a tiny fraction of the sky at a time. They can’t look at the whole sky, which is what you need to keep your eye on to see anomalies,” he said. He said that astronomers and other experts that studied the sky could not afford to confirm sightings of UFOs because they would place their professional careers at risk. “Ask any academic person who has broken that code and supported UFO phenomena in any particular case; you will see the kind of trouble they get into: Their grants fall away. People are not taken seriously among peers; it is still taboo.” He slammed organisations that did studies into unexplained phenomena for conducting a “code of silence” where professionals were convincing witnesses to remain silent on what they saw. “Big organisations that supposedly research UFOs to release information on UFOs are tied into government organisations that go in and see the person that’s made the report. They want to put them under hypnosis and I’m pretty sure that there and then, they are covering up and hypnotising the person to forget what they saw.” The organisation Saufor (South Africa’s UFO Resource) is a platform for South Africans to report UFO sightings, but there aren’t many reports on its website. “People don’t want to report them anymore. If you look at how many people are seeing things, and one brave person will try and phone up an organisation or even try the police with a police report. But this kind of thing isn’t reported much,” said Herschel. “It’s going to keep going until the day comes when they actually park atop Table Mountain and people are filming and watching it. That will be the day,” he added. He said that extraterrestrials were concerned with suffering on Earth, but were prevented from making direct contact with humanity by world elites.

“The most important thing that the elite of the world are trying to cover up is an official visitation by them. They do not want them to show themselves because it will bring in peace and order and stability and no profiteering.” Herschel maintained that prophecies reveal a date when extraterrestrials will make their presence known.“2012 makes the most sense with prophecy. The Mayan calendar ends on that date; Nostradamus prophecies all speak about a time close to World War III. The Revelation prophecies speaks of a situation that seems to match pretty much with the chaos that we’re in now.” CHINA SP ACE SPACE PROGRAM BOLSTERED BY FIRST DOCKING http://www.nytimes.com/2011/11/04/ world/asia/chinas-space-program-boostedby-first-docking.html?_r=2&ref=science#h[]

With a “kiss” more than 200 miles above Earth, a pair of Chinese spacecraft successfully coupled early Thursday morning, bringing the country one step closer to its four-decade quest for manned space exploration. The docking of the Shenzhou 8 capsule with the Tiangong 1 module was broadcast live on national television. Prime Minister Wen Jiabao watched from the control centre in Beijing, and thousands of citizens expressed their pride through Internet postings in what many referred to as the country’s first “space kiss,” remarking how far China had come since its more impoverished days. In the coming year, officials plan to repeat the unmanned exercise with

ufO encounter

astronauts as part of its mission to reach the moon and to launch its own space station by 2020. If all goes according to plan, China’s floating laboratory would become airborne around the same time the aging International Space Station goes into retirement. American and Russian aerospace engineers perfected space docking in the 1960s, but Wu Ping, a spokeswoman for China’s manned space program, said that Chinese scientists had come to this moment largely on their own, having domestically produced hundreds of components and instruments. “This makes China one of the few countries in the world that can independently research and develop docking mechanisms,” Ms. Wu said at a news conference on Thursday, describing the achievement as “a historic breakthrough for our country and a huge technical leap forward.” Some Western scientists, however, said the successful mission provided stark evidence that the 20-year-old sanctions that limit cooperation between American and Chinese aeronautical engineers had failed. The policy, imposed by Congress shortly after Beijing’s violent suppression of pro-democracy protesters in 1989, restricts scientific exchanges and blocks exports of space technology. Chinese scientists are barred from American space conferences, and China is not among the 16 countries whose astronauts are allowed to use the International Space Station. In the two decades since it was frozen out of the world’s elite space club, China has relied on its own aerospace engineers, aided by lavish government financing, to chase its space exploration dreams. In 2003 came the first successful human space flight, and in recent years Chinese scientists have mastered the manufacture and launching of communication satellites, many of which are sold to nations in the developing world. In 2008, Chinese

ufO encounter

astronauts took their first spacewalk, and last year China sent up a second lunar probe. In an ominous turn, in 2007 Beijing successfully tested an antisatellite missile that alarmed Washington and angered many international scientists for rendering the target, an aging weather satellite, into potentially dangerous orbital debris. Gregory Kulacki, China project manager at the Union of Concerned Scientists, an organization based in Cambridge, Mass., says the Congressional ban on cooperation with China spurs suspicion on both sides of the Pacific and fuels a costly, unnecessary space race. “When we deny them visas, it breeds hostility among young Chinese scientists,” he said, adding, “the lack of cooperation could lead to miscalculations and escalated conflicts in times of crises.” The snubs may sting, but the restrictions do not seem to be holding back China’s aerospace industry. In celebrating the successful docking on Thursday, Ms. Wu of China’s manned space program said that even if its spacecraft were homemade, China would not exclude other countries from playing a role in its aerospace program. German scientists, she said, had equipped the Shenzhou 8, with a device for conducting experiments. And unlike the International Space Station, China’s space laboratory will have no membership restrictions when it becomes operational. “The planned Chinese space station will be open to global scientists,” she said. ROVER SPOTS NEW THING ON MARS http://cosmiclog.msnbc.msn.com/_news/ 2011/11/04/8638536-rover-spots-thenew-thing-on-mars

NASA’s Opportunity rover has come across a light-coloured line of rocks [image below] that could serve as solid evidence for Mars’ watery past — and help set the stage for the next Mars mission, due for launch this month.

The formation, nicknamed “Homestake” or “The Vein,” showed up in pictures that the rover sent back from the rim of Endeavour Crater early this week. It looks like a few paving bricks (Maybe because they might actually be paving bricks? – Ed), sticking edge up from the surrounding soil. Not all that impressive, but it caught the attention of the rover science team as well as the amateur observers who are following Oppy’s every move. Cornell astronomer Steve Squyres, the principal investigator for the Opportunity and Spirit rover missions, told the Planetary Society’s A.J.S. Rayl that he and his colleagues have been keeping an eye on similar light-colored veins of rock for months during Opportunity’s dash to the crater rim. Squyres said tracing the veins to find Homestake was a “real triumph of geology.” “These are different from anything we’ve ever seen with either rover, a completely new thing on Mars, never seen anywhere,” Squyres said. “And we’re pretty charged up about it.” So what is it? Squyres isn’t willing to “hazard a guess” yet, but the speculation is that the rock could point the way to minerals that are linked to Mars’ wetter, warmer past. Five years ago, the now-defunct Spirit rover churned up light-coloured, silica-rich dirt that had to have been formed in the presence of water. LIFE EXISTED ON MARS http://www.app.com/article/20111128/ NJNEWS/311280103/Two-Shore-researchersthink-they-see-remains-of-structures-on-RedPlanet

A group of researchers, including a planetary researcher from Howell and an image analyst formerly from Jackson, claim that there are constructs on Mars that cannot be explained as the result of natural forces. Referring in particular to one parrotshaped geoglyph [below] that is the focus of their studies, James Miller of Howell said, "Yes, it could be partially natural, but it had to be worked. There would have to be six different

15

geological events happening within a mile by a half-mile area for this thing to have happened naturally." Not so fast, said a professor with a specialty in planetary science. "Everything I see in those images can be explained by natural processes, primarily wind erosion of layered materials. Indeed, it is very easy for the eye to see what look like familiar forms in unfamiliar settings, and I'm sure that's what's happening here," said Steven W. Squyres, an astronomy professor at Cornell University, who has been an investigator on many Martian science robotic probe programs. Squyres added, "Carl Sagan once said 'extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.' A hill on Mars that looks like a parrot to an imaginative eye does not in my opinion constitute extraordinary evidence." Miller, a member of the Cydonia Institute, and Haas, formerly of Jackson and founder of the Purcellville, Va.based organization, are calling for a "serious review" of what they see as a growing archive of anomalous formations in the shape of geoglyphs found on the surface of the red planet. Geoglyphs are large designs found on the ground forming shapes or patterns. Perhaps the most well-known geoglyph are the Nazca Lines in Peru. Viewed from the ground, they appear to be a series of lines. Viewed from the air, those lines take on the appearance of birds, a monkey, and other animals. The Martian parrot, found along the northwest rim of the Argyre Basin, mimics Mesoamerican art, "Everything we're finding on Mars has a direct correlation to Mesoamerica," Haas said. "I think we're related to whoever built this stuff (on Mars.)" Miller and Hass, along with five other people - geologists and veterinarians included - recently published their findings in the Fall issue of the Journal of Scientific Exploration. The journal is a publication of the Society for Scientific Exploration, with many of its council members holding advanced degrees or professors - engineering, physics and astronomy included - at various universities, including Princeton University. The society's website says its members study unusual and unexplained phenomena, often crossing mainstream boundaries. A 2005 Time magazine article bluntly states: "Pretty much anything that might have shown up on The X-Files (television show) or in the National Enquirer shows up first here."

COAST UFO ACCOUNT BAFFLES EXPERTS http://www.goldcoast.com.au/article/2011/ 11/30/369831_gold-coast-news.html

The Gold Coast Hinterland this month was the setting for what the state’s premier alien hunters are calling one of the strangest UFO sightings on record. Queensland’s UFO Research Centre is investigating an anonymous report from a local resident about a three-hour close encounter of the “first’’ kind in the skies above the city on November 18. The Friday night started out like any other when the Varsity Lakes woman went outside for a cigarette and observed the Leonid meteor shower. After counting more than 18 of the celestial objects she noted a “large light’’ in the northern sky which she says was “strobing and flashing’’. Just moments later the object was joined by two other lights to create a triangular formation which, she says, was both red and silver in colour. The report shows the objects performed “impossible’’ manoeuvres in the sky and would “sparkle’’ as they moved through the clouds, creating an “atmospheric phenomenon’.’ The woman finally went into her house after being bitten by mosquitoes. It is understood she was not probed by or had any contact with the object.

The Research Centre’s Dr Martin Gottschall [above] said typical UFO encounters lasted mere seconds.“Colour changes are normal, especially when UFOs use clouds as cover while they conduct surveillance,’’ he said. Dr Gottschall said people should keep a camera with them at all times. “If they film something unusual it could be a rewarding experience,’’ he said. STORMY SUN COULD KNOCK OUT POWER GRIDS http://au.news.yahoo.com/queensland/a/-/ technology/12235646/stormy-sun-couldknock-out-power-grids-report/

LONDON (Reuters) - An upcoming cycle of stormy solar activity risks causing damage to electrical transformers and threatening vulnerable energy infrastructure around the globe, a report by an insurance group says.

The sun follows a predictable 11 year activity cycle, with the next period of stormy activity expected to begin in 2012-13. The report by German insurance group Allianz said a high impact solar storm, not easily predicted due to its recorded rarity, could cause blackouts and economic losses of over $1 trillion and that the worst case scenario would be even worse. “What we’re coming into at the moment is the bad (space)weather period,” Jim Wild of Britain’s Lancaster University, an expert in solar plasma physics, told Reuters. A large explosion on the surface of the sun could release billions of tons of superheated magnetically charged gas at a speed of a million miles per hour, and when that gas hits the earth’s magnetic field, it can trigger a big solar storm. The severity of a potential disruption has made experts at insurance and national security institutions take notice. “When you start to imagine not having electricity in a sizeable fraction of a country or a continent for weeks or even months ... it’s serious business,” Wild said. The difficulty lies in predicting how often serious solar type events occur. The small lead time given by satellites is also a problem for preventing solar storm damage, as currently no satellite is close enough to the sun to give more than an hour’s warning, Wild said. Updating the satellites to give the earth more preparation time would cost around $1 billion, he added. Space weather is a relatively new area of study, with sophisticated observations going back only 50 years and lacking an international coordinated tracking system such as that found with normal meteorological weather. “We have very little on a solar time scale,” Wild said. The most damaging storm in recent memory was a 1989 outage in Quebec, Canada, which affected six million people. The first scientific recording of a large solar storm was made in 1859 by English

ufO encounter

astronomer Richard Carrington, who observed a white light explosion on the surface of the sun. Wild said: “what they didn’t know back then was why about two or three days later you could see the northern lights over Cuba and all of the telegraph system was disrupted by geomagnetic activity.” According to the Allianz report, an event on the same scale today would cause extensive damage to electrical infrastructure. THE END OF THE WORLD NOT HAPPENING - FOR NOW http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/ newstopics/howaboutthat/8929275/Theend-of-the-world-not-happening-fornow-says-expert.html

The end is not near. At least that's according to a German expert who says his decoding of a Mayan tablet with a reference to a 2012 date denotes a transition to a new era and not a possible end of the world as others have read it. Last week, Mexico's National Institute of Anthropology said a second inscription mentioning the 2012 date is on the carved or molded face of a brick found at the Comalcalco ruin, near the Tortuguero site. The interpretation of the hieroglyphs by Sven Gronemeyer of La Trobe University in Australia was presented for the first time Wednesday at the archaeological site of Palenque in southern Mexico. His comments came less than a week after Mexico's archaeology institute acknowledged there was a second reference to the 2012 date in Mayan inscriptions, touching of another round of talk about whether it predicts the end of the world. Gronemeyer has been studying the stone tablet found years ago at the archeological site of Tortuguero in Mexico's Gulf coast state of Tabasco. He

ufO encounter

said the inscription describes the return of mysterious Mayan god Bolon Yokte at the end of a 13th period of 400 years, known as Baktuns, on the equivalent of Dec. 21, 2012. Mayans considered 13 a sacred number. There's nothing apocalyptic in the date, he said. The text was carved about 1,300 years ago. The stone has cracked, which has made the end of the passage almost illegible. Gronemeyer said the inscription refers to the end of a cycle of 5,125 years since the beginning of the Mayan Long Count calendar in 3113 B.C. The fragment was a prophecy of then ruler Bahlam Ajaw, who wanted to plan the passage of the god, Gronemeyer said. "For the elite of Tortuguero, it was clear they had to prepare the land for the return of the god and for Bahlam Ajaw to be the host of this initiation," he said. Bolon Yokte, god of creation and war, was to prevail that day in a sanctuary of Tortuguero. "The date acquired a symbolic value because it is seen as a reflection of the day of creation," Gronemeyer said. "It is the passage of a god and not necessarily a great leap for humanity." Many experts doubt the second inscription is a definite reference to the date cited as the possible end of the world, saying there is no future tense marking like there is in the Tortuguero tablet. The institute has tried to dispel talk of a 2012 apocalypse, the subject of numerous postings and stories on the Internet. Its latest step was to arrange a special round table of Mayan experts this week at Palenque, which is where Gronemeyer made his comments. RIDLEY SCOTT'S NEW ALIEN MOVIE INFLUENCED BY ANCIENT ASTRONAUT THEORY http://www.huffingtonpost.com/alejandrorojas/ridley-scotts-new-alienm_b_1124808.html

Excitement for Ridley Scott's latest alien movie, Prometheus, has been heating up. An exciting fact for those who believe extraterrestrials have already visited our humble planet is that Scott says his new movie is influenced by the theory that aliens have "helped" humanity advance to its current level of civilization. Dubbed the "ancient astronaut theory," this idea was made popular in the late 60s by Swiss author Erich von Daniken, and is currently the focus of the popular History channel television series Ancient Aliens. Von Daniken's ideas were an instant hit when he introduced them in his bestselling book Chariots of the Gods?, published in 1968. Von Daniken suggests that some of the world's ancient

structures were too complicated to be created by mankind. Instead he believes they were created by a d v a n c e d extraterrestrial civilizations that interacted with primitive human beings. One of the most popular examples is the pyramids of Giza; others are the monuments on Easter Island, and Stonehenge in England. Scott's comment that NASA and the Vatican agree with these ideas is a bit dubious. Although, in 1974, NASA's chief of systems layout at the Marshall Space Flight Center, Josef Blumrich, published a book titled, The Spaceships of Ezekiel. In the book, Blumrich suggests that the famous biblical story of the prophet Ezekiel's vision of a wheel within a wheel, could have been describing advanced technology. Blumrich posits that because of the lack of technology in Ezekiel's time, Ezekiel was describing the technology of an advanced extraterrestrial civilization using the terminology of that era. Several astronauts and retired NASA employees have gone on to investigate UFOs, or have been outspoken about their UFO sightings, but NASA has never given credence to the idea that extraterrestrials are currently, or ever have, visited the earth. The Vatican has also never made such a claim, although they have been showing interest in astrobiology, recently hosting a scientific conference on the subject. There have also been Roman Catholic priests who have shown an interest in UFOs, including Monsignor Corrado Balducci, who before his death in 2008, was the Vatican's expert in demonology. then aged five, during a family picnic at Burgh-by-Sands [image below]. What captured everybody’s attention was the image that loomed in the photo’s background, a mysterious figure clad in a white space-suit. Even now, the picture, published and talked about around the world, remains a complete mystery. As well as writing 14 books, he amassed a huge archive of local photos, which chronicle Carlisle life. Speaking yesterday, his daughter Elizabeth said: “He carried a camera all through the war. He had a very busy life, and always enjoyed life to the full.” As for the spaceman, Jim was always open-minded, pointing out that the photo, professionally developed by Kodak, was not a fake.

SOUTH AFRICA UFO CONVENTION THEORY THEORY:: ETS RAID EARTH FOR GOLD http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/11/ 30/south-africaufo_n_1119400.html?ref=ufo

If humanity wants to understand the greed in a man or woman's heart, he might want to look to the stars . . . and the little green men who might be living on them. Aliens -- much like humans -- have been plundering the planet for gold for thousands of years, according to the organizer of South Africa's first UFO Science and Consciousness Conference, held in Johannesburg last week. "There's a battle for Earth by some interesting dark forces," conference organizer Michael Tellinger told News 24. "All the governments in the world are puppets and instruments to implement the will of a small group of individuals. The royal political bloodline goes back thousand of years." Tellinger insists that extraterrestrials visited our planet in search of gold about 300,000 years ago, cloned their genetic makeup and gave rise to mankind. Ever since, they've been in contact with world leaders. "They came to Earth looking for gold. We are all still obsessed with gold," Tellinger said, according to News 24. And thanks to its diamonds and gold deposits, South Africa is "at the heart of this," Tellinger reportedly said. "South Africa has been dubbed as the cradle of humankind and the place where all life began, thus

the reason [South Africa] was selected as the host for the UFO Science and Consciousness Conference," he told The Citizen. "We have scientific evidence that there was physical life before humans which were African knowledge keepers and custodians of secret knowledge." Tellinger's statements about goldhunting aliens were widely reported by the South African press, while comparisons between the golddigging alien theory and the plot of the film "Cowboys & Aliens" were noted by the sci-fi blog io9. But those claims about ETs weren't the only shocking ideas introduced at the forum. Laura Eisenhower, who describes herself as the greatgranddaughter of president Dwight Eisenhower, claims world leaders have experienced close contact with aliens, signing treaties with them every decade. "Extra-terrestrials have been working with governments for a while," she told News 24. Bigfoot expert Lloyd Pye told the crowd about an oddly shaped skull that he believes belonged to an alien while hypnotist Jennifer Welch discussed crystal skulls.
