PUDDLES PITY PARTY In 2020, with touring cancelled, Puddles holed up in his studio and produced 12 episodes of his Still Sequestered show which featured a variety of special guests like Jack Black, Penn Jillette, Howie Mandel, E (from Eels), Weird Al, Sid Krofft, Michael Stipe, Patton Oswalt, Cait O’Riordan, Neil Hamburger, David Dastmalchian, Mastodon, Tim Heidecker, and artist Mark Ryden. Puddles also developed a line of coffee. All that was tremendous fun, and kept Puddles from feeling too lonely. But nothing makes Puddles less dejected than performing in front of a live audience of the best fans any sad clown could ask for. He is beyond excited to get back on the road and bring his all new Unsequestered Show to his favorite venues! PLEASE NOTE: Out of concern, he won’t be able to do post-show Puddles Cuddles for this show. But he will be offering a pre-show VIP Meet ’n’ Greet Experience on most of the tour, where he’ll perform a private acoustic set, and you can get a safely distanced photo along with an exclusive souvenir.

About Puddles A veritable “Pagliacci by way of Pee-Wee Herman and David Lynch” (The Atlanta Journal-Constitution), Puddles Pity Party has more than 790K YouTube subscribers and almost 300 million views for indelible interpretations of classics by the likes of ABBA, Bowie, Britney, Cheap Trick, SIA, Tom Waits, and Queen along with his unforgettable rendition of the smoosh-up Pinball Wizard/Folsom Prison Blues. You may recognize him as a finalist on Season 12 of America’s Got Talent and a contestant on the 2020 season of AGT: The Champions, as well as his viral video collaborations with Postmodern Jukebox. Puddles charms audiences at his on-going residency at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, and tours extensively in the US, selling out legendary venues like the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco, the Kennedy Center in D.C., The Vic in Chicago, and the Troubadour in Los Angeles. Puddles has toured internationally through Europe, Canada, Australia, and Mexico. He has also performed many places in the UK including London’s legendary O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire and Soho Theatre, as well as the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Other worldwide

festival appearances include the Adelaide Fringe Festival, Perth Fringe World, Melbourne International Comedy Fest, Just for Laughs Montreal, Belgium’s Gent Festival, Outside Lands (San Francisco), Festival Supreme (LA), Bumbershoot Festival (Seattle), Moontower Comedy Festival (Austin), and Bethlehem’s MusikFest.

About Dave Hill Dave Hill is a comedian, writer, musician, actor, radio host, and man-about-town originally from Cleveland, Ohio, but now living in New York City in a totally sweet apartment with a party deck and everything. Hot chicks come over to hang out and eat cheese plates and stuff with him all the time and it’s awesome. Anyway, on the show business front, Dave has appeared on Netflix’s The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Adult Swim’s Joe Pera Talks with You, Amazon’s The Tick, Comedy Central’s @midnight and Inside Amy Schumer programs, TBS’ Full Frontal with Samantha Bee, TV Land’s The Jim Gaffigan Show, and TruTV’s Comedy Knockout, among a bunch of others. He is a frequent on-air host for HBO and Cinemax, and has been on channels like MTV, VH1, BBC America, and Sundance TV.

BIOGRAPHIES Sam Bush On a Bowling Green, Kentucky, cattle farm in the post-war 1950s, Sam Bush grew up an only son, and with four sisters. His love of music came immediately, encouraged by his parents’ record collection and, particularly, by his father Charlie, a fiddler, who organized local jams. Charlie envisioned his son someday as a staff fiddler at the Grand Ole Opry, but a clear day’s signal from Nashville brought to Bush’s television screen a tow-headed boy named Ricky Skaggs playing mandolin with Flatt and Scruggs, and an epiphany for Bush. At 11, he purchased his first mandolin. As a teen fiddler Bush was a three-time national champion in the junior division of the National Oldtime Fiddler’s Contest. He recorded an instrumental album, Poor Richard’s Almanac, as a high school senior and in the spring of 1970 attended the Fiddlers Convention in Union Grove, N.C. There he heard the New Deal String Band, taking notice of their rock-inspired brand of progressive bluegrass. Roy Acuff offered him a spot in his band. Bush politely turned down the country titan. It was not the music he wanted to play. He admired the grace of Flatt and Scruggs, loved Bill Monroe—even saw him perform at the Ryman—but he’d discovered electrified alternatives to tradition in the Osborne Brothers and manifest destiny in The Dillards. See the photo of a fresh-faced Sam Bush in his shiny blue high school graduation gown, circa 1970. Tufts of blonde hair breaking free of the borders of his squared cap, Bush is smiling, flanked by his proud parents. The next day he was gone, bound for Los Angeles. He got as far as his nerve would take him— Las Vegas—then doubled back to Bowling Green. “I started working at the Holiday Inn as a busboy,” Bush recalls. “Ebo Walker and Lonnie Peerce came in one night asking if I wanted to come to Louisville and play five nights a week with the Bluegrass Alliance. That was a big, ol’ ‘Hell yes, let’s go.’” Bush played guitar in the group, then began playing mandolin after recruiting guitarist Tony Rice to the fold. Following a fallout with Peerce in 1971, Bush and his Alliance mates—Walker, Courtney Johnson, and Curtis Burch—formed the New Grass Revival, issuing the band’s debut, New Grass Revival. Walker left soon after, replaced temporarily by Butch Robins, with the quartet solidifying around the arrival of bassist John Cowan. “There were already people that had deviated from Bill Monroe’s style of bluegrass,” Bush explains. “If anything, we were reviving a newgrass style that had already been started. Our kind of music tended to come from the idea of long jams and rock ’n’ roll songs.”

Shunned by some traditionalists, New Grass Revival played bluegrass fests slotted in late-night sets for the “long-hairs and hippies.” Quickly becoming a favorite of rock audiences, they garnered the attention of Leon Russell, one of the era’s most popular artists. Russell hired New Grass as his supporting act on a massive tour in 1973 that put the band nightly in front of tens of thousands. At tour’s end, it was back to headlining six nights a week at an Indiana pizza joint. But, they were resilient, grinding it out on the road. And in 1975 the Revival first played Telluride, Colorado, forming a connection with the region and its fans that has prospered for 45 years. Bush was the newgrass commando, incorporating a variety of genres into the repertoire. He discovered a sibling similarity with the reggae rhythms of Marley and The Wailers, and, accordingly, developed an ear-turning original style of mandolin playing. The group issued five albums in their first seven years, and in 1979 became Russell’s backing band. By 1981, Johnson and Burch left the group, replaced by banjoist Béla Fleck and guitarist Pat Flynn. A three-record contract with Capitol Records and a conscious turn to the country market took the Revival to new commercial heights. Bush survived a life-threatening bout with cancer, and returned to the group that’d become more popular than ever. They released chart-climbing singles, made videos, earned Grammy nominations, and, at their zenith, called it quits. “We were on the verge of getting bigger,” recalls Bush. “Or maybe we’d gone as far as we could. I’d spent 18 years in a four-piece partnership. I needed a break. But, I appreciated the 18 years we had.” Bush worked the next five years with Emmylou Harris’ Nash Ramblers, then a stint with Lyle Lovett. He took home three-straight IBMA Mandolin Player of the Year awards, 1990-92, (and a fourth in 2007). In 1995 he reunited with Fleck, now a burgeoning superstar, and toured with the Flecktones, reigniting his penchant for improvisation. Then, finally, after a quarter-century of making music with New Grass Revival and collaborating with other bands, Sam Bush went solo. He’s released seven albums and a live DVD over the past two decades. In 2009, the Americana Music Association awarded Bush the Lifetime Achievement Award for Instrumentalist. Punch Brothers, Steep Canyon Rangers, and Greensky Bluegrass are just a few present-day bluegrass vanguards among so many musicians he’s influenced. His performances are annual highlights of the festival circuit, with Bush’s joyous perennial appearances at the town’s famed bluegrass fest earning him the title, “King of Telluride.” “With this band I have now I am free to try anything. Looking back at the last 50 years of playing newgrass, with the elements of jazz improvisation and rock ’n’ roll, jamming, playing with New Grass Revival, Leon, and Emmylou; it’s a culmination of all of that,” says Bush. “I can unapologetically stand onstage and feel I’m representing those songs well.”

Mike Marshall Mike Marshall made his Carnegie Hall debut at the age of 20 with jazz violin legend Stephane Grappelli as a member of the David Grisman Quartet. He would perform in that famed hall with his own classical ensemble, The Modern Mandolin Quartet, in 1985. Mike has been at the forefront of New Acoustic music for more than 40 years, having been the founding member of many groups including the Montreux Band, Psychograss, Choro Famoso, and The Anger Marshall Band. He is indeed a living compendium of musical styles and has the ability to seamlessly blend his American roots background with a deep understanding of European classical music, Brazilian choro, and other world music. Mike is a fluid Jazz improviser and a master on mandolin, guitar, mandocello, and violin. Between 1999 and 2003 Mike collaborated with Joshua Bell, Edgar Meyer, Béla Fleck, and Sam Bush on two separate projects. These groups toured the U.S. extensively and performed at the Aspen Music Festival, San Francisco Performances, and Chamber Music at Lincoln Center, N.Y. Both ensembles were nominated for Grammy Awards for their Sony Classical releases. In 2014 Mike was nominated for his third Grammy Award for his recording with the Turtle Island Quartet. Currently Mike is touring with German mandolin virtuoso Caterina Lichtenberg. The two have released two CDs on the Adventure Music label and have performed at the Carmel Bach Festival, the Savannah Music Festival, the Bach Haus Liepzig, Germany, and the RockyGrass Bluegrass Festival in Colorado, and have been soloists with the New Century Orchestra under Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg, and Orchester l’arte del mondo from Cologne, Germany. Their most recent recording is a CD of Johann Sebastian Bach duets performed on mandocello and mandolin. Mike’s past duet projects have included tours and CDs with mandolinists Chris Thile, violinist Darol Anger, bassist Edgar Meyer, Brazilian mandolinist Hamilton de Holanda, and pianists Jovino Santos Neto and Andy Narell. His recordings can be found on the Windham Hill, Sony Classical, Rounder, Sugar Hill, and Compass labels, as well his own Adventure Music label. As a music educator Mike is committed to passing on his knowledge through a variety of channels. He currently directs the Mike Marshall School of Mandolin through the ArtistWorks on-line educational company where he is teaching hundreds of mandolinists from around the world. He has published six books on mandolin technique and has produced three video instruction DVDs. Since 2012 Mike has been the director of the Acoustic Music Seminar at the Savannah Music Festival where he hand selects 15 of the brightest young

acoustic music virtuosos from around the world (ages 15–22) for a week of intensive study and musical inspiration. Between 2003 and 2015 Mike directed the Mandolin Symposium at the University of California in Santa Cruz with partner David Grisman and in 2017 he will be launching the Global Mandolin Retreats project, which will be a mandolin educational experience located in various inspiring locations around the world. Mike splits his time currently between his home in San Francisco, Calif., and Wuppertal, Germany, where his wife, Caterina Lichtenberg, holds the position of mandolin professor at the Cologne Music Conservatory.

Edgar Meyer In demand as both a performer and a composer, Edgar Meyer has formed a role in the music world unlike any other. Hailed by The New Yorker as “...the most remarkable virtuoso in the relatively un-chronicled history of his instrument,” Mr. Meyer’s unparalleled technique and musicianship in combination with his gift for composition have brought him to the fore, where he is appreciated by a vast, varied audience. His uniqueness in the field was recognized by a MacArthur Award in 2002. As a solo classical bassist, Mr. Meyer can be heard on a concerto album with the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra conducted by Hugh Wolff featuring Bottesini’s Gran Duo with Joshua Bell, Meyer’s own Double Concerto for Bass and Cello with Yo-Yo Ma, Bottesini’s Bass Concerto No. 2, and Meyer’s own Concerto in D for Bass. He has also recorded an album featuring three of Bach’s Unaccompanied Suites for Cello. In 2006, he released a self-titled solo recording on which he wrote and recorded all of the music, incorporating piano, guitar, mandolin, dobro, banjo, gamba, and double bass. In 2007, recognizing his wide-ranging recording achievements, Sony/BMG released a compilation of The Best of Edgar Meyer. In 2011 Mr. Meyer joined cellist Yo-Yo Ma, mandolinist Chris Thile, and fiddler Stuart Duncan for the Sony Masterworks recording, The Goat Rodeo Sessions, which was awarded the 2012 Grammy® Award for Best Folk Album. Mr. Meyer was honored with his fifth Grammy® Award in 2015 for Best Contemporary Instrumental album for his Bass & Mandolin collaboration with Chris Thile. His most recent recordings are a collection of Bach Trios with Yo-Yo Ma and Chris Thile released in 2017 and the 2020 Not Our First Rodeo, a follow-up to the Grammy® Award-winning Goat Rodeo Sessions album. As a composer, Mr. Meyer has carved out a remarkable and unique niche in the musical world. His most recent work, New Piece for Orchestra, was premiered and commissioned by the Nashville Symphony and the Aspen Music Festival and School in 2017. That same year the Academy of St Martin in the Fields and

the Bravo! Vail Music festival commissioned Mr. Meyer to write Overture for Violin and Orchestra which was premiered by Joshua Bell and performed on the Academy’s 2018 US tour. Mr. Meyer’s Concerto for Double Bass and Violin was premiered in 2012 by Joshua Bell and Mr. Meyer at the Tanglewood Music Festival with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. The two artists also performed the work at the Hollywood Bowl with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Aspen Music Festival, and with the Nashville and Toronto symphony orchestras. Mr. Meyer was composer in residence with the Alabama Symphony in 2012 where he premiered his third concerto for double bass and orchestra. Mr. Meyer has collaborated with Béla Fleck and Zakir Hussain to write a triple concerto for double bass, banjo, and tabla, which was commissioned for the opening of the Schermerhorn Symphony Center in Nashville. The triple concerto was recorded with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra under Leonard Slatkin and featured on the 2009 recording, The Melody of Rhythm, a collection of trio pieces all cocomposed by Mr. Meyer, Mr. Fleck, and Mr. Hussain. Mr. Meyer has performed his second double bass concerto with the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra and his first double bass concerto with Edo de Waart and the Minnesota Orchestra. Other compositions of Mr. Meyer’s include a violin/piano work which has been performed by Joshua Bell at New York’s Lincoln Center, a quintet for bass and string quartet premiered with the Emerson String Quartet and recorded on Deutsche Grammophon, a Double Concerto for Bass and Cello premiered with Yo-Yo Ma and The Boston Symphony Orchestra under Seiji Ozawa, and a violin concerto written for Hilary Hahn which was premiered and recorded by Ms. Hahn with the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra led by Hugh Wolff. Collaborations continue to be a central part of Mr. Meyer’s work. In 2017 Mr. Meyer collaborated with fellow bassist Christian McBride showcasing their original music. Also in 2017 he toured the U.S. with Yo-Yo Ma and Chris Thile performing works from their Bach trios recording. Mr. Meyer’s previous performing and recording collaborations include duos with Chris Thile; a duo with Béla Fleck; a quartet with Joshua Bell, Sam Bush, and Mike Marshall; a trio with Béla Fleck and Mike Marshall; and a trio with Yo-Yo Ma and Mark O’Connor. The latter collaborated for the 1996 Appalachia Waltz release which soared to the top of the charts and remained there for 16 weeks. Appalachia Waltz toured extensively in the U.S., and the trio was featured on the David Letterman Show and the televised 1997 Inaugural Gala. The trio toured again in 2000 and recorded a follow-up recording, Appalachian Journey, which was honored with a Grammy® Award. In 2007 Mr. Meyer premiered a piece for double bass and piano with Emanuel Ax. Mr. Meyer also performs with pianist Amy Dorfman, his longtime collaborator for solo recitals featuring both classical repertoire and his own compositions, Mike Marshall in duo concerts, and the trio with Béla Fleck and Zakir Hussain which has toured the U.S., Europe, and Asia together. Mr. Meyer began studying bass at the age of 5 under the instruction of his father and continued further to study with Stuart Sankey. In 1994 he received the Avery Fisher Career Grant and in 2000 became the only bassist to receive the Avery Fisher Prize. Currently, he is Visiting Professor of Double Bass at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia.

George Meyer George Meyer plays the violin and writes music. He has performed his own compositions in a variety of settings, including Chamber Music Northwest, Bravo! Vail, the Savannah Music Festival, the Aspen Music Festival, the Telluride and RockyGrass Bluegrass Festivals, the Charles Ives Concert Series, the Rome Chamber Music Festival, and the Kyoto International Festival. He has appeared in performance with his father, Edgar Meyer, and with Mike Marshall, Sam Bush, Jerry Douglas, Fred Sherry, and Paul Neubauer. Recent works include a trio for two violins and cello (6’), a duo for violin and viola (15’), a solo violin piece (7’) for Katie Hyun, and a duo for violin and bass (18’), co-written and performed with his father. He has been commissioned by Chamber Music Northwest, Astral Artists, and Bravo! Vail. In 2016, Quodlibet Ensemble premiered his Concerto Grosso, a 15-minute work for string orchestra with solo string quartet, in New York City. His violin teachers have included Naoko Tanaka, Laurie Smukler, Stephen Miahky, Lucy Chapman, Jennifer Frautschi, Carolyn Huebl, and Carol Smith. He holds degrees from Harvard College and The Juilliard School. He is from Nashville, Tenn.

WHO’S WHO IN THE CAST Upcoming projects include musicals about Roy Rogers and the Woodstock Festival of 1969.

To this day, Bob Gaudio and Frankie Valli still maintain their partnership...on a handshake.

RICK ELICE (Book) co-wrote Jersey Boys (Winner 2006 Tony Award, 2007 Grammy Award and 2009 Olivier Award for Best Musical) with the great Marshall Brickman. His play, Peter and the Starcatcher, won five 2012 Tony Awards and is one of the most produced plays in North America. Also on Broadway, The Addams Family and The Cher Show. Coming soon: The Princess Bride for Disney; Water for Elephants, with the acclaimed theater collective, Pig Pen; Monopoly for Hasbro; Mad Season, with Rob Thomas and Schele Williams; Treasure, with 2021 Ed Kleban Award winner, Benjamin Scheuer. Rick’s book, Finding Roger, An Improbably Theatrical Love Story, is published by Kingswell. Heartfelt thanks to those whose theatre work makes him grateful for the day he was born: Sondheim, Stoppard, Bennett, Prince, Fosse, Robbins, Nichols, Nunn, Laurents, Stone, Taymor, Papp, Schumacher, Schneider, David, Strong, Gaudio, Valli, McAnuff, Trujillo, Timbers, Coyne, Brickman, and, eternally, Roger Rees. Rick thinks about them a lot. He never thought about Jersey much. He does now.

BOB CREWE (Lyricist). “New York was pregnant in the fifties,” says Bob Crewe, “gestating with possibilities.” Crewe and music partner Frank Slay became independent writer-producers when the category hadn’t yet been invented. In 1957 they wrote and produced Silhouettes for The Rays, which skyrocketed to #1. Suddenly, producers in demand, they launched Freddie Cannon’s Tallahassee Lassie and Billy & Lillie’s Lah Dee Da. Crewe’s 1960s unprecedented producing success with the Four Seasons birthed a new sound, striking a major chord in American pop. Sherry, Big Girls Don’t Cry, Walk Like a Man, Candy Girl, Ronnie – all smashes! When lead Frankie Valli demanded a solo turn, Crewe and Bob Gaudio wrote (and Crewe produced) Can’t Take My Eyes Off You, which eventually became the century’s fifth most-played song. Crewe ran hot with artists from Vicki Carr, Oliver and Lesley Gore to Mitch Ryder, co-writing with Charles Fox the soundtrack for Jane Fonda’s film, Barbarella. Then his own Bob Crewe Generation exploded with Music to Watch Girls By. In 1972 Bob was in L.A., where he revived Frankie Valli with My Eyes Adored You by Crewe and Kenny Nolan. They also co-wrote Patti LaBelle’s Lady Marmalade (#1, July ’75), which was a hit again on the soundtrack of Moulin Rouge (#1, June ’01)...David Ritz

BOB GAUDIO (Composer) wrote his first hit, Who Wears Short Shorts, at 15, for the Royal Teens, and then went on to become a founding member of the Four Seasons and the band’s principal songwriter. He also produced the hit You Don’t Bring Me Flowers for Neil Diamond and Barbra Streisand (Grammy nomination, Record of the Year) as well as six albums for Diamond, including The Jazz Singer. Other producing credits include albums for Frank Sinatra, Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross, Michael Jackson and the soundtrack for the film of Little Shop of Horrors. Several songs co-written with Bob Crewe have been cover hits for such artists as the Tremeloes (Silence Is Golden), the Walker Brothers (The Sun Ain’t Gonna Shine Anymore) and Lauryn Hill (Can’t Take My Eyes Off You). With his wife, Judy Parker, Gaudio produced and co-wrote the Who Loves You album for the Four Seasons and one of Billboard’s longest-charted singles (54 weeks), Oh, What a Night. A high point in his career came in 1990 when, as a member of the original Four Seasons, Gaudio was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In 1995, he was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, which hailed him as “a quintessential music-maker.” Gaudio is currently co-producing the Jersey Boys film with Nick Jonas as Frankie Valli, the upcoming Neil Diamond musical, A Beautiful Noise, and developing Frank Sinatra’s Watertown.

TANGO FIRE Tango Fire is a true global phenomenon having toured across the globe the past 17 years, attracting sold-out houses and glowing reviews. In 2019, the company presented a seventh season of performances at Sadler’s Wells Peacock Theatre in London’s Westend. The art of Argentine tango has never been so superb and dynamic. Tango Fire, born from the streets and tango houses of Buenos Aires, defines all that is Argentine tango; dancing which sizzles with sensuality, accompanied by the unforgettable music of the great tango masters including Piazzolla, Pugliese, and Gardel, performed by the astonishing Tango Fuego Quartet. As one of the world’s most popular dance forms, this exhilarating show combines the rawness and sophistication, seductive, and sultry side of tango, evoking the intoxicating passion of late night Buenos Aires. Tango Master Germán Cornejo and his partner Gisela Galeassi are joined on stage by three extraordinary couples from the greatest tango houses in Buenos Aires. Tango Fire’s choreographer, Germán Cornejo, continues the tango tradition, allowing the couples in his company to have the creative freedom to choreograph their own solos, coupled with his expertise to guide them and refine the steps. Creating a showcase of the four couples’ individual styles makes Tango Fire unique in the world of Argentine tango. All of this, together with Cornejo’s sublime choreography, takes you on an unforgettable journey through the different styles and moods of Argentine tango.

BIOGRAPHIES Germán Cornejo and Gisela Galeassi Germán and Gisela have been practicing and perfecting their tango since the early ages of 10 and 16 respectively. They have mastered the skills and styles of classical and contemporary dance, jazz, ballet, acrobatics, and tango under the guidance of Argentina’s most respected teachers. After more than 40 first place prizes at the national level, Germán and Gisela became World Tango Champions in 2005 and 2003, which undoubtedly took their professionalism and dance to the highest level and standards. Germán and Gisela’s list of performances is endless. They have appeared on the following top rated TV shows in Argentina and around the world: Susana Giménez, Bailando 2012, Showmatch, Almorzando con Mirtha Legrand, Mañanas Informales, La Noche del 10, Por el Mundo, Desayuno, Por Siempre Tango, Mp3, Música del Tercer Milenio, Afectos Especiales; Programa Do Jó (Brazil); CW11 Morning News, Fox News, and Good Day New York!
