Oxford Wintermester and Maymester

Wintermester & Maymester at the University of Oxford

Yeongseo Son (class of 2025)

“The Oxford Maymester met and exceeded my expectations (and oh boy, my expectations were high). My favorite parts were grabbing warm chocolate croissants from the HB Allen cafe, walking the beautiful cliffs and shores of England, talking with my Biomedical Ethics class in the absolute dark at Dans le Noir for our London excursion, and playing chess all night with my friends at the UGA@Oxford house. I also loved how I was able to get closer to my amazing peers in the program. I really feel, even more so after the Maymester, that I have found a family at UGA.”

Suhan Kacholia (class of 2025)

“The month in Oxford was one of the most enriching and eye-opening experiences of my life. The Philosophy of Language class helped me grow into a more rigorous and clearer thinker. During the Maymester, I took full advantage of what England has to offer – I saw a Shakespeare play at the Globe Theatre, went punting on the Thames, and connected with Oxford students involved in organizations I care about.”

Aryan Thakur (class of 2025)

“The month at Oxford was a unique bonding experience for us. Living across the world for a month with some of your best friends is like a crash course in getting to know them deeply. You figure out their quirks, what excites them, what they do when they’re exhausted and are forced to eat a Cornish pasty.”

Elliot Williamson (class of 2024)

“In weather that was almost always sometimes sunny and with 40 of my friends around me, I explored all sorts of places in the UK, from London to the small towns in the Cotswolds to the incredible English coast.”

Logan Williamson (class of 2024)

“The best part about Oxford is how much we were able to do in so little time. In 24 hours I’d go from having two classes where I defended a stance against nuclear weapons to being in England’s oldest city, wandering the ancient Roman baths.”
