THE AMERICAN RED CROSS The devastating flooding in Louisiana has forced thousands of people from their homes with just the few things they could take with them. The American Red Cross is there, providing food, shelter and relief supplies to those affected by the largest natural disaster to hit the United States since Superstorm Sandy. Early estimates predict the relief effort could cost at least $30 million, a number which could grow as more is learned about the scope and magnitude of the devastation. BATON ROUGE AREA FOUNDATION LOUISIANA FLOOD RELIEF FUND For several days, relentless rains fell and rivers swelled. Communities across South Louisiana flooded. Even people living on high ground were forced to flee to makeshift shelters where they are being cared for by more fortunate neighbors. History shows, over and over, that you can’t wash away the people of Louisiana. They come together to take care of each other. But they could use your help too. The Foundation has dispatched staff members across the Baton Rouge region to find where needs are the greatest. Our research will ensure that your donations go quickly and directly to nonprofits that are doing the most for people who call Louisiana home. DENHAM SPRING ANIMAL SHELTER On August 12, 2016, the Denham Springs Animal Shelter lost the battle with quickly rising flood waters. The dedicated staff and volunteers unlatched all kennel doors in an effort to give the animals in their care a chance at life. The staff sent an agonizing plea on Facebook for assistance following the submersion of their shelter. Because of their courage, many animals were kept alive and eventually rescued from the waters. Rebuilding will be a long road but with your help, we can make it a little easier. All profits from this t-shirt fundraiser will go directly to the Denham Springs Animal Shelter to assist in their road to recovery. Thank you.
