EDITOR’S LETTER EDITOR’S LETTER
Home. Even just saying the word makes me feel peaceful. It’s where we cook, pursue our hobbies, rest, and as of lately … work and study too. If you’re anything like me, having an environment that without fail makes you feel happy and safe is beyond important. After facing the day, it’s wonderful to be able to come home to a space that recharges you and is an expression of yourself and your passions. Even if you don’t have to necessarily “come home” anymore since the majority of our time is now already spent at home, I’ve noticed a powerful impact on my self-love and joy when I’ve put time into developing my home to showcase what I love in life.
Across the pandemic, I’ve forgotten and rediscovered what makes me, me about 10 ten times over. Since life looks so different than what it was in years past, I’ve really taken time to be able to get to know myself, and through that process I’ve been able to build a home life and home that represents me. I’ve found joy in my new hobbies like knitting and sewing, created a productive work/school nook where I can take care of my responsibilities without burning out, and experienced peace by making an environment that relaxes me.
