HEALTH AND WELLNESS
Stay fit, develop healthy habits and make friends at the Recreation and Wellness Center. Take part in sporting activities or fitness classes, or use a myriad of stateof-the-art fitness equipment or the indoor track. Intramural sporting activities are available to both novice and experienced participants. As a UHCL student at any location, you are automatically a member of the UHCL Recreation and Wellness Center. The Counseling and Mental Health Center provides access to nurses, the online campus pharmacy, immunizations and women’s health services. Counseling services are available to support mental health with individualized and group therapy, relaxation rooms and culturally sensitive programs.

ADVISING
At UHCL, there are three types of advisors:
1. College academic advisors housed within each of the four colleges onboard new and continuing students, offer comprehensive guidance on the creation of a plan of study, help with major selections based on interests and skills and connect them with resources to ensure success.
2. Transfer advisors support prospective and incoming transfer students by providing a variety of pre-admission services and recommending courses to enroll in that will ease their transition into the university.
3. Exploring Majors’ advisors guide students who are undecided on a major or career path by providing a customized plan, then guiding them through the exploration process and connecting them to useful resources.
OTHER RESOURCES
The Student Success Center and Writing Center offer study tips and tutoring services. Career Services helps you explore career paths, learn about jobs and internships, and improve your resume and interview skills. Veterans and service members can take
advantage of the resources available through the Captain Wendell M. Wilson Office of Military and Veteran Services. Critical thinking, self-advocacy and basic-needs support and resources can be obtained at the Center for Student Advocacy and Community. Utilizing a comprehensive approach to student development, the Dean of Students Office fosters ethical decision-making, upholds student rights and responsibilities, and provides distinctive student support services. EDUCATION ABROAD
The Office of Education Abroad and Scholar Services can help you inspire higher in pursuit of an international educational experience that will increase your global awareness. The UHCL Hawk Promise scholarship guarantees tuition and mandatory fees will be covered by grant assistance for new in-state freshmen with family incomes (AGI) at or below $65,000.

UHCL – Located in the Clear Lake community of Houston on a 524-acre wildlife habitat, University of Houston-Clear Lake is adjacent to the Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center and the Armand Bayou Nature Center, featuring diverse wildlife including whitetail deer. The Clear Lake campus includes six classroom buildings—Bayou, Arbor, Delta, Student Services and Classroom, STEM, and the Recreation and Wellness Center. Additionally, Hunter Residence Hall, named after our mascot and opened in fall 2019, offers students comfortable living spaces that enhance their campus experience.
PEARLAND – Located just off Pearland Parkway near Beltway 8, the UHCL at Pearland location has been serving the Pearland area for 14 years and offers select undergraduate and graduate degrees in behavioral sciences, nursing and education. UHCL at Pearland hosts Alvin Community College core classes, which are transferrable to UHCL.
TEXAS MEDICAL CENTER – Located at the Texas Medical Center, the largest center of healthcare delivery and research in the world, UHCL’s TMC location offers undergraduate and graduate healthcare-related degrees for working professionals taught by experts in the healthcare industry.
