In traditional times, Mānoa valley was expertly cared for and cultivated by Native Hawaiians. In return, it provided an abundance of sustenance and protection for its residents. Today, Mānoa continues to furnish the resources that enable our institution to be a thriving land, sea and space grant university. In keeping with the Native Hawaiian manner of reciprocity, these blessings are passed on to you in the form of academic excellence so that you are equipped to take care of yourself, humanity, Hawai'i, and the world.
