The CPH alumni body consists of more than 3,500 graduates who have made their marks across the globe, influencing policy, conducting research, guiding communities toward healthier outcomes, and training future public health educators and leaders. Alumni are involved in the college as mentors, lecturers, board members, practicum site hosts, and guests at special events.

NOTABLE CPH ALUMNI INCLUDE:

Laura Beane Freeman (99M.S., 03Ph.D.), senior investigator at the National Cancer Institute. Her research focuses on cancer risk associated with the agricultural environment, including pesticides; industrial chemical exposures such as formaldehyde; and drinking water contaminants.

Anshul Dixit (08M.H.A., 08M.P.H.), is medical director at Blue Shield of California, a health insurance provider serving 4 million members in the state. He collaborates with network providers to improve health care quality and affordability and works within a multidisciplinary team to assure the quality and medical necessity of services accessed by plan members.

Paul King (83M.A.), president and CEO, Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford and Stanford Children’s Health. The San Francisco Bay-area health network offers over 60 sites of care covering more than 150 medical specialties focusing on obstetrics and pediatric care.

Darrin Ott (01M.S., 07Ph.D.), directs the Force Health Protection Research portfolio for the US Air Force Medical Service at the School of Aerospace Medicine. He manages the applied research program that develops knowledge and material solutions to help protect Department of Defense personnel from the hazards of military and industrial support operations.

Danielle Pettit-Majewski (10M.P.H.), public health administrator for Washington County, Iowa. She provides leadership and builds partnerships to address evolving public health concerns and issues at the county level and broader area.

Wei Zhang (05Ph.D.), vice-president, head of medicine for Greater China, Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals in Shanghai, China. His duties include medical affairs, regulatory affairs, clinical development, clinical operations, pharmacovigilance, and biostatistics and data sciences.
