A hunter and his dog are standing on an empty page, they have lost their painting. They go on an adventurous quest through landscapes and settings we recognize from Bruegel’s paintings. On their journey they meet several of Bruegel’s characters and travel through different types of sceneries: calm and tranquil or busy and crowded. Through cracks in the paintings and torn canvases they move from one painting to the next. Their journey ends with the illustrator’s interpretation of ‘Hunters in the snow’.

Mrs Winter’s Hearth Fire Carl Norac & Michael De Cock, illustrations Gerda Dendooven Scintillating poetry and slightly tongue-in-cheek Stunning illustrations by Gerda Dendooven, winner of the Woutertje Pieterse award in 2017 A unique collection of stories for all ages
Carl Norac and Gerda Dendooven give winter a face and a voice and make it shine like never before. Shiver and melt at the same time with this sparkling book about the coldest of the four seasons. Sometimes, it is said that winter is sad. What a mistake! Winter can have loads of fun. Just take a stroll along a frozen pond some time. You'll often hear it crack. That only happens when winter is having too much fun. It cracks with laughter. It's laughing so hard that it breaks. What's it laughing about, you ask? Because of our frozen noses? Because of our clumsy slipping? Because our scarves are so long that they touch the ground? No, I don't think so. Winter has to work for three months each year, like a seasonal worker. Yet, who pays him? Nobody does. Every year, he just packs his bags and leaves. And still, he comes back every time, alive and kicking, and he's not even cold.

Between You and Me An interactive diary for children and parents Janneke van Bockel A unique diary for parents and children to fill out together Brimming with fun writing activities, mini quizzes and a lot of free space to give full rein to your creativity Playfully designed
This interactive diary allows children to write down their stories whenever they want. They can write about things that bother them or make them happy, big and small fights they had, their doubts, or just because writing is fun, just like in a regular diary. However, this book also leaves room for the parents to respond to what their children have written down. They can leave each other questions in it. For instance: do you know which concert was the first your mother ever went to? Or who her favourite colleague at work is? Did your dad ever have a crush on someone in school? Did he ever imagine having a different job? And are there things he's not very good at? This book gives you the means to really engage in conversation with your children in a creative and interactive way. It also contains a practical guidebook so you can start writing right of the bat.
170 x 210 mm | 160 pages | 3,900 words full colour illustrations | hardcover | all rights available

Everything Will Be Fine, Always Kathleen Vereecken, illustrations Charlotte Peys A captivating story of a young girl during WW I The long-awaited new YA novel by the award-winning Kathleen Vereecken With intricate illustrations by budding talent Charlotte Peys
The sky was grey that day. But as night fell, the horizon turned orange. Clara jumped up with wide-open eyes and pointed to the sky. ‘So beautiful!’ ‘How is that possible?’, I asked. I sat on my knees in the chair, backwards, and stuck my head through the curtains. ‘There isn’t even sun.’ No answer. I looked back. Oscar was standing there with his hands in his pockets. A thin piece of cigarette stuck to his lower lip. He didn’t say anything. My mother covered her mouth with her hand. My father frowned deeply and put Clara on his lap. ‘It’s not the sun’, Rosa said. ‘It’s war.’ Everything Will Be Fine, Always is the moving story about a girl who grows up during WW I and sees her family fall apart.
