and the lively stories and pictures. Many of these stories have been written by famous children’s book authors and illustrators including Margaret Wise Brown, Richard Scarry, Tibor Gergely and Garth Williams. In this catalogue we’d like to emphasize the contributions of their Dutch counterparts like Thé Tjong Khing, Fiep Westendorp, Charlotte Dematons, Sjoerd Kuyper, Noëlle Smit, Harmen van Straaten, Martijn van der Linden, Toon Tellegen, Jan Paul Schutten and Koos Meinderts. After 65 years of Little Golden Books publishing in the Dutch language the series has become part of the Dutch national children’s books heritage. With this being the case the cream of illustrators and authors from the Lowlands are finding it an absolute honor to create their own edition Christmas has nearly arrived. “A little brown bear cub named Mika who doesn’t want to hibernate after an owl tells him about the northern lights. He sneaks out when his parents are asleep in their den and asks the animals he meets how to find them. Neither the moose, the crane, the wolf, nor the wolverine can help him, but when he again encounters the owl, they look up together and see how “all kinds of different colours lit up the deep blue of the night.” Their return back to their cave is a cozy end to a truly lovely picture book.” - Starred Kirkus Review Mika, The Bear Who Didn’t Want To Sleep By Erik Kriek Sold to: UK/USA
