Greeks are promoting to UIW students this week "National Hazing Prevention Week", September 22-26, 2014. Hazing can happen in non-Greek organizations. Hazing Is A Term Used To Describe Different Ritual And Activities That Involve One Or More Of The Following: Harassment, Abuse, or Humiliation. Spread the word. Light the Way 2014 is around the corner and UIW will host a workday session on Wednesday, Sept. 24, 5:30-8:30 p.m. in Marian Hall Ballroom in preparation of the dazzling event. UIW students are eligible to receive on-campus community service hours by updating and replacing Christmas light bulbs. Friends and family over the age of 10 are encouraged to attend as well. Volunteers Needed! Woodridge Carnival at Woodridge Elementary School Carnival Friday, October 24, from 3-6pm. Volunteers are needed to help with the food and game booths. Shifts: 2:30-4pm, 4-5pm, and 5-6:30pm. Woodridge Carnival is the largest fundraiser for Woodridge Elementary School in Alamo Heights ISD. What’s New 2014 Sr. Charles Marie Frank Lecture: Influencing Diversity in Nursing Education, Practice, Research & Leadership Speaker Deidre Woods-Walton, JD, MSN, RN-PHN, President and CEO, National Black Nurses Association, Inc. will present a lecture designed to promote discussion and dialogue about the driving forces for and barriers to creating diversity in the profession of nursing. The lecture will be in the Rosenberg Sky Room on Tuesday, Sept. 23, 12:30-2:30 p.m. Admission is free to the general public, $10 at the door for nurses pursuing continuing education credit and RSVP to the event is requested. Attention Students with AT Parking Permits: The parking lot will be open for use on Monday September 15th. As a recipient of the ‘AT’ parking decal you will not be allowed to park on the main campus Monday – Thursday (8am-5pm); Campus Police will start issuing parking ticket around the September 18th to those that are still parking on main campus. For your convenience there will be shuttle service throughout the day – as of now the shuttle is scheduled to run 6:30am to 8pm Please note that night time parking is prohibited.
