Health Teaching (Group 117, Personal Hygiene) “It is also not bad to be a school nurse at all regardless of what I heard from other people. Ma’am Rose showed me how to be a devoted nurse even if you’re just in school. I enjoyed being in my school exposure a lot of children to mingle with, to laugh with and a lot of smile that you will see in every duty. I also
learned how to do deworming and actual assessment in school age patient. In general on how I feel, I enjoyed everything I learned in my school exposure, learning with fun.” Zaira Nina T. De Leon BSN030/GRP117
“I learned that I must be a more aware and responsible student nurse because I must teach the students all the knowledge I can imply to them to at least broaden their knowledge and skills. I must give my best because all the knowledge and skills I will teach them, they can use it for their own life . The school is the most vital place in the learning process of a person.” Langub, Joel Nikko, BSN 030/ 117
“I realized how important our function as a nurse is, and how this profession can mold us to become the paramount person that we can be. It trained me how to adapt in different scenarios and how to keep the standing and maintain the nurse’s charismatic smile when assessing, communicating, treating and teaching diverse kinds of clients. This experience taught me how to deal with younger people and take notice of their concerns.” Gepilano, Sheena Camille G., BSN030/ GRP 117 “We are more knowledgeable now about the growth and development of the school age. Our experience will help us in taking care of our clients.” Domingo, Avegail B. BSN 030/ 117
“I learned that being a school nurse is not about sitting around and waiting for a complaining patient, but about maintaining and protecting the health of every individual inside the school. It’s not easy, it’s a time consuming work. But as I see Ma’am Rose, she makes it look like her work is difficult because she is happy and has devoted herself to this profession.” Chuidian, Joane L., BSN 030/ 117
ce to do the “We were also given the chan es. I was able to things that a school nurse do ts, provide experience to assess studen re not feeling treatment to students that we ons to the stuwell, and even give medicati g, Mikella Belresa dents for deworming. “ Layu V. BSN 030/ 117
The fact that we were able to deal with different kinds of people. The opportunities to interact with children in that school is priceless. It gave me the chance to know how children usually behave and how they develop into a much better person. Miayo, Marvin, BSN 030/ 119
“I will never forget this experience, because it made me love my profession more,. I agree that you will never appreciate the theories until you apply it in a real setting. Melanie Y. Lao, BSN 030/ 117
Health Teaching (Group 119, Anti-Smoking)
“I learned that public schools are regularly monitored and supervised by government personnel. Children in P Burgos are strictly monitored when it comes to their health. P. Burgos has one nurse and during our exposure I had seen how responsible she is, from food tasting in the canteen to checking the CRs.”
“This school is one of the public schools which have approachable school personnel. Their school nurse Mrs. Rosita Parizal welcomed us with the sweetest smile. She opened the door of their clinic and she told to us that we can stay in their clinic. She tells more about their school, their pro grams, and her duty as a school nurse.” Mesa, Xanthe, BSN 030/ 119
EleI think that our exposure at P. Burgos undermentary School had helped me to avior of stand and appreciate more the beh kind of school-age children. These are the “living children who possess the attitude of MONthe world like it has no tomorrow. 117 TES, MA. VANESSA, BSN 030/

“I learned a lot from exploring the school and mingling with other school children to make us more understand their developmental level We were also given the opportunity to choose a client to assess; in this activity we were able to apply the procedure in assessing a schooler age child. On our last day of exposure, we had a health teaching in the form of a play. The children are very participative and cooperative especially in games. MOSQUERA, KEZIA CAMILLE, BSN 030/ 119
