Campers in Preschool Camp will experience dress up days, animal visits, performances, a spectacular funfilled carnival, and two family evenings. The entering kindergarteners will have two field trips also! A rest period for full-day campers is already scheduled, Allowing naps or quiet activities, like reading or puzzles.

JCamp is a traditional day camp that provides a rich and unique experience full of friendships and memories that last a lifetime. Our dynamic program allows every child to explore their own interests and try new activities within a safe camp atmosphere. Camper’s Choice: Each week, campers choose an activity to explore. It may involve a sport, like basketball and yoga, or a skill set like music, video, or canvas painting. Teen Camp is about striking a balance between having fun and giving back. Three days a week, campers will participate in exciting, off-campus activities such as surf lessons, paddle boarding, black light mini golf, an overnight camping trip, and more! Teen Campers also have an opportunity to give back to the community through a beach cleanup, volunteering at the Jewish Family Service food pantry, and creating care packages for soldiers. They will also plan their own special projects. The combination of recreational activities and community service projects will contribute to a memorable summer camp experience. Counselors In Training Teenagers entering grades 9th - 11th
The CIT program at JCamp this summer for selected students will allow our youth to gain leadership skills, and a sense of integrity. CITs will enjoy the “traditional” camp experience with bonus training that emphasizes: · Mentoring Children
· Independent Decision Making
· Accountability and Responsibility
· Confidence and Self Esteem
· Teamwork & Conflict Resolution These opportunities to work with the campers that look up to the teenagers will assist in developing better leadership skills and prepare these students for future roles within our community. CITs will help with many of the special activities including off cite activities and community service projects. This one-on-one meeting allows us to learn more about your child’s strengths and explore accommodations and supports that may benefit your child. Interviews will begin in March 2018 and availability in the program is limited. We look forward to working with you to provide a wonderful summer experience for your child.

Did you know JCamp provide an additional two weeks of fun summer activities after the traditional eight weeks of camp? Post Camp Includes: · Game Show Themed Activities · Outdoor Play · Arts and Crafts · Waterpark Fun and Swim · Field Trips · Cooking Lessons …and a few surprises! This program is also Monday through Friday 6:30 am – 6 pm in the JCC’s The Zone. Campers will bring their lunch, swimsuit, towel and sun protection. Daily snacks will be provided.

Our family isn’t Jewish. Is JCamp for us? Absolutely! We may say boker tov, which is Hebrew for good morning, but we say it to welcome people of all faiths and backgrounds! If you want a traditional day camp experience, JCamp is for you! Do you provide snacks for my child? All campers enjoy a snack in the morning and an afternoon treat. Campers must bring their own lunch and beverage. We ask that you respect Kosher laws. Also, please remember that camp is peanut free! What kind of swim instruction do you provide? Our certified lifeguards provide age appropriate swim lessons that focus on everything from floating to survival techniques. Basics like floating, diving, and swim strokes can also be improved with our lifeguards and safety guidelines. Do you have a sibling discount? If two or more children from the same family membership are registered for the same week, families receive a discount of $25 per child per week for every child after the first enrollee. The sibling discount may not be combined with any other discounts. Do you offer financial assistance? The JCC strives to ensure no child is denied a camp experience. Scholarships are available. Completed applications with requested documentation are due April 17th. Applications received after April 17th will be considered after May 16th only if funding is available. Applications are available at www.CampJCC.org and at the JCC Customer Service Desk. How do I register my child? Camp registration forms are available for download at CampJCC.org. Pick up a form from the JCC Customer Service Desk or request to be sent one by calling 757.321.2338. Is there a registration fee? There is no registration fee.

How do I pay for camp? We accept cash, check, VISA, MasterCard, and Discover. A non-refundable deposit of 25 % of the total fees is due at registration, the balance is due June 1, 2018. Registration after June 1, 2018 requires payment in full. What kind of JCC membership qualifies me for the discount at Camp JCC? The JCC member discounts are for full year (12 month) family or single parent membership only. Summer memberships do not apply. What if I decide I need to cancel my child’s enrollment? All cancellations must be in writing 14 days prior to the start of the week of camp to be cancelled. All deposits are non-refundable. Parents cancelling after the 14-day deadline are responsible for any remaining balance of the cancelled weeks. Can I switch weeks in which my child’s enrolled? A parent or gaurdian may change weeks they initially enrolled by completing a change form ten days prior to the start of the original enrolled week. This option is based on availability and The JCC reserves the right to charge a fee of $25 if 2 or more changes are processed. Is camp in session on July 4th? No. Holiday observance. Do you give refunds if my child gets sick and can’t attend camp? Unfortunately, we are unable to reduce fees due to absence, illness, family matters, holidays (including July 4), or vacations. All deposits are non-refundable. The JCC makes every effort to provide campers with a great camping experience, and cannot be held responsible for acts of God, and will not provide refunds for natural disasters that may interfere with the camp experience. What are the age cut offs? Campers must be 2 years of age by September 30, 2018 or entering the listed grade.
