so you want to host [i]MPACT?
INTRODUCTION
01 WHY [i]MPACT? Because it is time for a braver generation. [i]MPACT, short for ‘I IMPACT’ is not just an event - it is a movement, a movement of positive action. [i]MPACT first kicked off on the 4th of August 2012, with its debut event held at the Black Box and White Box, MAP@Publika. It featured prominent change makers giving talks and workshops - sharing both their knowledge and skill to all participants. We gathered change makers from all fields such as poetry, media, design and advocation to prove once and for all that there is no one way of making an impact. However, only being able to accommodate an audience of about 150, we are now calling out to you to spread this movement by organising your own [i]MPACT in your local school/college/university/company or local community! Spread the message and inspiration as good things become even better when shared. With guidance from us, take action now and hold your very own [i]MPACT!

THE GUIDELINES
Lets make it simple. [i]MPACT’s aim is to encourage positive action amongst the youth. We believe that action speaks louder than words, thus to get the ball rolling, we hope to get people to stand up and take the action necessary to benefit the local community - however small those actions may be.
“Everything should be made as simple as possible. Not simpler.
THE II THREE I STEP I PROCESS I
01
[i]MPACT:Think
A series of talks by change makers - those who have had experience in conducting impactful projects. This step is aimed to inspire the participants to come up with their own ideas of impacting their community by exposing them to different kinds of action (e.g. Adopting a very minimalist approach, each speaker will be given at most 20 minutes to share their stories with the audience. To encourage more personal interactions between participants and speakers, we suggest to not have formal Q&A sessions to allocate more time for intimate networking.

02
[i]MPACT:Learn A series of workshops conducted by change makers. Once participants have ideas in mind, this is the next step of making those ideas reality. Through these series of workshops, participants will be able to gain the essential skills (such as event management, marketing and branding) which may aid the implementation of those ideas. Workshops conducted should be interactive and intimate. We suggest a capacity of about 20-30 people - just enough for participants to work in groups without feeling crowded. As this is just a guideline, in this step, we leave it to you to decide which skill your event would like to concentrate on and how your workshops would be conducted. It is all up to you!
The [i]MPACT Team has made available an [i]MPACT: Act Toolkit which aims to guide these actions by providing essential information to project management as well as providing each impactor with a guide to measuring their project’s impact through both quantitative and qualitative methods.
03 [i]MPACT:Act After getting inspiration and gaining the skills needed to implement those ideas, now its time for the final step:
ACTION Feel free to download this Toolkit and distribute them to your participants. You can also use it to measure your own event’s impact too!
