Strumming a ukulele is little different from other musical instruments as it is done with the index finger. The proper way of strumming is done by keeping a fairly loose hand you want to hit the string with the nail of your index finger. When strumming down, your nails should be hitting the strings. When you strum up, it should be with the fleshy tip of your finger. Also, it is quite important to use wrist rather than your whole hand.
Simple Strumming Patterns Ukulele strumming is not that difficult as the beginners think. Some essential strumming can be created by keeping the same up and down motion. Using down, up and palm-muting techniques, you will get a variety of rhythmic variations to play numerous songs. Learn to strum in time to the music is required for being a good player.
All down Strums Once you will be comfortable with the down strums, we add up strums into your learning. The up strums between each down strum make the pattern more interesting. The learners will be able to count these up strums in between the main beats by counting like: 1 and, 2 and, 3 and, 4 and, repeat.
