Lewisham certainly isn’t short of restaurants, and its food scene is as diverse and exciting as its population. We’ll bet that any craving can be satisfied without stepping out of the borough.

Lewisham’s Model Market is an ideal place to eat with a group of friends and serves until 1am every weekend. Just a short walk from the Vita Student building, you’ll find at least five different street food vendors, three bars and live DJs. Experience heaven and try the frozen custard from Secret Nicky’s, served with honeycomb and a Jack Daniels shot.

On Deptford High Street, mouth-watering aromas waft from Hullaballoo, a small but cosy Indian restaurant with old Bollywood posters collaged on the walls. It attracts heaves of students for its generous portions, cheap prices and because it’s fully vegetarian. The fact that you can bring your own booze is even better.

Both Goldsmith’s University and University of Greenwich (and their SU bars) are within 10 minutes of the Vita Student London in Lewisham. So we’re right in the centre of the action, and it’s quick and easy to get home after a few drinks.

Wander past Lewisham’s many shops and you’ll arrive outside Fox and Firkin – a kooky pub with an amazing outdoor space and regular live music events. But why rush to go out when the party is at home? At Vita Student, we’re known for our extravagant events that are totally free for our students. Think of us as The Great Gatsby of student accommodation
