Alongside the building are
corridors that follow the curve
of the building. These corridors are accessible from the inside
of the builing and outside. They are not only for circulation,
but to also provide cover when there is rainfall.

gyre cell project brief: we were tasked with choosing a beach at a coastal city in the gulf of mexico as our site. this project is intended to be a shoreline shelter in a post-oil environment that would protect the inhabitants of the area during severe weather.

MATERIAL The Modular building is constructed from Structurally Insulated Panels (SIPs), has on-site energy-generation, and off-site panel fabrication. The Element House also has solar chimneys and specific placement of windows to prevent excess heat or cold.
