Ullswater Community College Bursary Eligibility To be eligible to receive a bursary you must be aged under 19 on 31 August in the academic year in which you start your programme of study. There are three levels of Bursary payment: Level One
How much? £1200 per year
Two
Up to £800 per year
Three
Up to £200 per year
Who? If you are in care, a care leaver, in receipt of income support, or you are disabled and in receipt of Employment Support Allowance and the Disability Living Allowance. If you are in receipt of Free School Meals or family means- tested benefits.
If you have a clear financial need and do not fall into Levels I or 2 above
How Paid? Lump sum
You apply for funds for specific educational purposes i.e. essential educational equipment and enrichment tuition or curriculum trips. SMT will assess each claim and authorise monthly payments up to the permitted maximum. To continue to receive a bursary you must satisfy the following conditions: You must not have any unauthorised absences You must not have broken the terms of the Sixth Form Contract (pages 10-12 of the Sixth Form Planner) You must ensure that you attend each lesson, this will be verified by your subject teacher when they complete the electronic register. Process Year 12 and Year 13 students should submit applications by 25 November of each year. The Business Manager will consider applications and allocate funding by 1 December. Subsequent applications can be made by new students and funds will be allocated as soon as possible until all the funding has been exhausted.
