To test you would use the Illinois Agility test (1 mark) Course description; 10x8m use 4 cones to mark start and finish. 4 cones spread equally down the middle. (1 mark) How to test; subjects need to lie on their front with hands by their shoulders. On the command ‘go’ the subject will navigate the course as quick as possible. The timer is stopped at the finish line. (1 mark) Agility is important to a footballer as they are often required to dribble with the ball and change speed and direction when evading an opponent. Or similarly they would have to react and follow them as the defender. (1 mark) If a footballer improves their agility they will increase the likelihood of evading the defender in attack or thwarting the attacker in defence. (1 mark)
