Welcome to the Maths Revision Page Summary of content: Pupils with sit two written papers: 1 calculator (1 hour), 1 non-calculator (1 hour). The tests are based on all the work done in Year 8. Please study the Schemes of Work and Revision materials in the Downloads section above. Important information: Pupils will need the usual Maths equipment: calculator, angle measurer, pair of compasses, pencil, pen and ruler. These can be purchased from The Maths office. Students can look back through their class work in their exercise books and review their Maths assessments from Year 7 (these will have their areas for development highlighted and are stuck in their exercise books). In addition, students can revise using the MyMaths website found in the quick links. Aims of the exam - You are being assessed on your ability to recall and use the relevant skills, knowledge and understanding that you have developed since starting UCC . - You will also be awarded marks for your workings and method. How should I revise maths? To get started: - Find a quiet place to study without distractions. - Get a pen and paper handy to begin, and go through your checklist to decide which topics you need to focus on first. Then: PRACTICE ANSWERING QUESTIONS AS MUCH AS YOU CAN - Remind yourself of the key learning points and check you understand the worked examples in your exercise book. - Use MyMaths to help you understand the material and BBC Bitesize. - Test yourself after you have completed a topic, using the online homework's and revision exercises in the text book. - By practising questions you will become more familiar with the material and the style of questions. It will help you feel well prepared and confident ready for the examination.
