What a year so far! On top of celebrating 50 Golden Years in Business, Jack Murphy Jewellers has had a number of awards successes. After being named in the Retail Jewellers ‘TOP 100 Independent Jewellers in UK and Ireland’, representatives from their team traveled to London earlier this year, to celebrate with their peers. This Newry based family jewellers was then voted as 1 of the top 5 Regional Winners, receiving the award for the TOP Inspiring Independent in Scotland and Ireland 2022.

Their award success with Retail Jeweller did not stop there, Gemma and Jack jetted off once again with their team to London for the UK Jewellery Awards, where they took home the title of ‘Bridal Retailer of the Year’. Receiving a score of 98% in their mystery shop, with the reviewer praising the new bridal jewellery area, while the judges agreed that this retailer inched above the rest with its “Complete package” commenting –“There’s an intrinsic culture to this business that allows it to stand out. I am not sure how others can emulate this, but it is certainly something to strive for”.

The celebrations continued for Jack Murphy Jewellers at the Newry Chamber Employee and Team awards, it was no shock that the Team at Jack Murphy Jewellers were in the running for many titles, with their Marketing Manager Charlotte McAteer, being awarded ‘Best Family Business Employee’. Spearheading the Jack Murphy Jewellers Marketing team and making a difference in the wider community, with the multiple Charity Partnerships she has organised on behalf of JMJ, Charlotte has certainly left her mark on this family business and Newry. Managing Partner Gemma Murphy expresses how “Charlotte has demonstrated hard work, determination and resilience in the face of adversity as we navigated our way through the Covid-19 pandemic, unsure of what lay ahead. We are so grateful for all of the hard work that Charlotte does”.

The Jack Murphy Jewellers team also brought back two Highly Commended Titles to their awardwinning showroom, with ‘Best Retail Team’ and ‘Best Creative, Media and Digital Tech Team’. Delighted with their success at these local awards, Gemma Murphy dedicated their success to the team, “To win such amazing awards 50 years on is something that we are immensely proud of.
