After too long an absence Belfast Restaurant Week is back with a bang! The week-long event last month supported by Belfast One, Cathedral Quarter and Linen Quarter districts saw a platter of mouth-watering special events with over 500 delicious menu options served by Belfast’s top restaurants, hotels and eateries. The official press launch was held at Coco restaurant, Linenhall Street. As you’d expect the best-known names in culinary circles attended including food writer Joris Minne and the late great Kim Lenaghan. If there was ever an event to celebrate Northern Ireland cuisine, Kim would be there! Toasting and sharing her passion for food and the very best of produce Northern Ireland offers. The muchloved freelance radio and television broadcaster, writer and critic sadly passed away last month. Kim, worked in the fields of visual and cinematic arts, music and cuisine culture and was best known as the presenter of BBC Radio Ulster’s weekend mornings. Her sparkle, her love of life, her effervesce, her passion will be sorely missed by so many. Kim, we raise our glasses to you.

ANDY SPROULE’S PRESIDENT’S DAY

A great day was had by all at Andy Sproule’s President’s Day at Dunmurry Golf Club. With over 200 golfers competing on the day, there was some great golf played with all of the winners scoring over 40 points! The day was rounded off with the presentation of a fantastic array of golfing prizes, a lovely dinner and live music. Congratulations to all the winners and a huge thanks to President Andy and his wife Johanna for hosting such a great day. Womens winner was Janet Moffitt and womens runner up was Edel Teague.
