The Joy of Science

Evana Bjourson is an artist based in Portrush and her dynamic wave paintings take inspiration from life by the beautiful north coast of Ireland. Her illustrations frame and enhance the simple yet dramatic elements of nature. By focusing her creations on transience and fleeting moments in time, Evana’s work is characterised by a sense of energy. Light sources are often central features in her work. Furthermore, a limited palette is used to draw out predominant, dramatised colours in a scene in order to simplify and create a more whimsical image. The themes of connectivity are often portrayed in Evana’s analysis of nature and people. The artist’s work can be viewed in person at the gallery she shares with her husband, Adrian Margey, ‘Margey & Bjourson Art’ on Mark Street Portrush or on her website www.evanabjoursonart.com. The most updated versions of her work can be viewed on her social media channels; Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
