Please switch off the recorder and remove batteries if you are not using the recorder for a long time. This is to avoid needless battery wear during periods of storage.

Operating Instructions

Power On / Power Off: Open the battery case and install the battery in the correct direction ensuring that the “+” “-” are seated correctly. When batteries are inserted the screen will light up in 3 seconds and “ON” will display on the LCD screen, the recorder is turned on. button for 3 seconds, the screen

Recording: Record with one-touch button: Press “REC” button when you turn on the device to start recording. The screen shows the recording icon, the recorder enters in SP recording mode by default. It begins recoding.

SP recording mode is the defaulted recording mode in the recorder. And it is also defaulted as Voice Activated Recording. The sensitivity of VAR can be adjusted properly according to the sound source and room ambience.

Attention:When the battery is low,

will twinkle on the

screen. If you fail to notice the indication of low battery during recording, the recorder will automatically save the present recording file and automatically turn off within 30 seconds. Please change the battery in time.

Attention: When the LCD shows “ERR”, it indicates the disk is full or the battery is low or it reached the maximum file numbers in the recording mode. * If the disk is full, some files should be deleted to keep enough space for saving new recording files and other information. If the battery is low, the recorder can only be used normally after replacing the battery. The recorder can save 99 pieces of recordings at each recording modes. If one of the recording modes has recorded 99 recordings and you do further recording under this recording mode. The LCD will show “ERR” and it can not record successfully. Please record under other recording mode. Attention: Please do not take out the battery during recording and playing. It may cause loss of information and cause a corrupt file. A corrupt file can lead to the recorder freezing (non operational). The frozen problem caused by misuse should be formatted in the computer (Please select FAT system), the recorder will be fixed after formatting.

Remarks: After entering “Delete” condition, if there’s no further operation in 3 seconds, the recorder will automatically exit “Delete” condition.

Music Player Mode

If there is any HP recording made on the recorder, the HP recording is automatically placed in front of any stored music file . If there’s no music or HP recording file, the recorder will automatically return to main menu. Play/Pause: press

FM Radio

Press “M” button in standby condition to enter into the main menu, press or

After finishing the adjustment, the recorder will save it automatically. After 10 seconds in standby condition or press the “M” button, the recorder will return to the main menu.

Check the recorded time: Transfer the recording files to the computer. Right click the mouse over the files transferred and open “Properties”. You can check the time data of P a g e | 13

the recording file: The creation time is the time when recording started. The modified time is the time when recording stopped The access time is the time when the recording files were uploaded to the computer.

Attention: If you take out the battery after you have set the time setting, the time will restore to the factory defaults. Remarks: Since there’s no clock function in the recorder, the time which is indicated would be a little different with daily time, please reset the time when you need this function.

Record via external microphone Insert one end of external microphone into jack. Please check the recording and one-touch for recording operation.

Attention: In case of occurrence of distortion, please adjust the output volume of the player to proper level.

Recording monitor and hearing aid function: Insert the earphone when the recording is proceeding, you can hear what you are recording and various recording effects in different conditions For the person whose hearing is not good enough, the monitor volume can be adjusted to aid hearing. Press

button to stop the recording and press “+” or “-“button to select

the volume according to your needs. The minimum is 0 and the maximum is 31, 0 is defaulted. Press

button to restart recording after adjustment.

Remarks: This function can not be used under HP recording mode.

Connect with computer as the USB flash disk Insert the USB cable with the recorder into the “USB” Jack, and connect the USB cable with the computer, the recorder enters into USB mode (see pic). After a successful connection, the data can be exchanged between the recorder and computer. The recorder can support WINDOWS 98/ME/ 2K /XP/ Vista system, but the drive is needed under WINDOWS 98 system. The recorder can be power supplied by USB. Press “M” button to exit the USB mode and enter into main menu or record playing standby condition, the recorder can work properly after that.

Attention: please do not pull out the recorder during data transferring between the recorder and the computer; otherwise it may cause the losses of information or frozen problem. Then the recorder can only work normally after formatted in the computer (Please select FAT system). P a g e | 15

Installation of drivers Place the accompanying CD into the CD ROM of PC (or manually operate the “set up. exe” in the CD), enter in installation interface, click “Next” button, click “Next” button after selecting installation path. Click “Next” to start installing the program. After successful installation, click “Close” button to fulfill software installation. To start from PC’s “Start” → “Program”→ “MP3 Player Upgrade、Sound Convert”. MP3 Player Upgrade is an upgrade tool and Sound Convert is for converting the Voice Files, MP3 player Disk Tool is for setting the password for the disk.

Convert ACT recording file into * WAV format The ACT format file recorded by the recorder can be converted into WAV format via the accompanying installation program tool kit. 1. Run “Sound Converter” program, and click “Open” button

2. Select the ACT file to be converted

3. Click “Convert” button to start converting into WAV file

Attention: Before converting the ACT file, please rename or backup the recording file in WAV format which has the same code with ACT format need to convert. For example: We want to convert “REC001 ACT” to WAV format. Before converting it, we have to rename the “REC001”. Otherwise the new file “REC001” created by converting will replace the original “REC001”.

Trouble shooting

The recorder cannot turn on. Please check the power switch is at the “ON” side or if there is enough battery, please recharge the battery or reformat the recorder. Check that the Hold button is not on.

No sound is heard when playing files. Please make sure the connection of earphone is OK. Please adjust the volume or check the file to see if the file is damaged/corrupted

It will not record. Please format the recorder at FAT system. But please backup the important files onto your pc/laptop before formatting. All data is wiped from the recorder

The recorder is frozen, can not response. Please take out the battery and put them back after 3 second. Then connect the recorder with PC via USB cable. Format the recorder at FAT system. But please backup the important files before formatting. P a g e | 17

It will not connect with my PC, it can’t be recognized. Please check whether there’s something wrong with the USB cable, use a spare if you have one. If you are on an old Operating system please check that the OS USB driver has been installed properly.

The FM Radio is not very clear Please adjust the position of earphone and recorder.
