As the largest liver transplant program and one of the largest kidney transplant programs in New England, UMass Memorial Medical Center collaborates with you to give your patients highly specialized and timely care, support and education throughout all phases of transplant care, including living donor liver and kidney transplants. The UMass Memorial Organ Transplant Program has emerged as a leading center in New England. In recent years we have: • Performed more liver transplants than any other center in New England — and the second-highest number of deceased-donor kidney transplants in the state • Launched a comprehensive living donor liver transplant program, expanding the number of available organs and decreasing the wait time for eligible patients • Streamlined the process and shortened the time to place patients on the UNOS (United Network for Organ Sharing) waiting list • Consistently attained mean times to transplant — how long patients remain on the waiting list — that are highly competitive
