Young Artists QR Gallery
Exhibition Opening: 6pm Friday 11 October 2013 to be opened by Johanna Beningfield
Awards Presentation: 6.30pm Friday 11 October by Vicki Salisbury
This exhibition is a vibrant collection of artwork by Queensland’s top high school visual art students, showcasing works on paper, sculpture, film, printmaking, photography and mixed media. The exhibition aims to recognise and promote excellence in senior visual arts education throughout Queensland state and non-state secondary schools.
The Young Artists QR Gallery is designed to showcase North Queensland regional students’ creative work. Bolted to the side of the Umbrella Studio building is a 3 x 3 metre banner displaying a massive QR Code. The Code is a portal that links to the online gallery. This is an opportunity for young artists to promote their own work, see artwork created by other students and receive moderated critique.

People’s Choice Awards
During 2013 Umbrella hosted five online exhibitions in our Young Artists QR Gallery. One young artist was selected as the People’s Choice from each exhibition.
All students, teachers, parents and friends of the participating schools are invited to attend the Awards Presentation.
