Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated

Kappa Alpha Psi® Fraternity, Incorporated was founded on January 5, 1911 on the campus of Indiana University The name was officially changed to Kappa Alpha Psi on a resolution adopted at their Grand Chapter Meeting in December 1914 This change became effective April 15, 1915 The organization has been known temporarily as Alpha Omega and in 1911, Kappa Alpha Nu.

One of the 5 objectives of the Fraternity is: “To promote the spiritual, social, intellectual and moral welfare of members” Many aspects of the Fraternity’s rites are engrained in Christianity ideals and contain excerpts from the Bible

The original chapter, Gamma Xi, was chartered on our campus on April 2, 1949. Much later, Pi Nu was chartered on our campus on December 13, 2008.
