Students in the Business Law Clinic launched “Brief Advice Sessions” last year, designed to offer small business owners virtual pro bono legal consultations with law students.

Our faculty includes: • Professor Kristin Hickman, who served U.S. as Special Adviser for the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, and who is an associate director of the Corporate Institute, is regularly cited in judicial opinions and court briefs for her research on the IRS and regulatory tax law. • Professor Claire Hill, who serves on the American Law Institute committee that recommends standards and best practices regarding the law of compliance and risk management.
Professor Jonathan H. Choi specializes in tax law, legislation and regulation, and computational analysis of law. He teaches Taxation I. Before entering the academy, he practiced tax law at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz.

Professor Amy B. Monahan is an expert in areas of federal taxation and employee benefits law. She served on the Determination of Essential Health Benefits committee, developing guidelines and principles for the Department of Health and Human Services and the Affordable Care Act insurance reforms.
Professor Brett McDonnell received a 2018 award for excellence in legal education, from the AALS Section on Business Associations. He was honored with the section’s Outstanding Mentor Award, which recognizes section members who have demonstrated exemplary mentoring skills.
Professor Daniel Schwarcz recently testified about the federal role in the insurance industry before the Housing and Insurance Subcommittee of the House Financial Services Committee in Washington, D.C.
