Employee pushes limits, commits to DCC mission As an exercise physiologist for the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, Christopher Fitzmaurice has helped others push their boundaries by finding their strength in exercise and movement. Now, by participating in the Dolphins Challenge Cancer (DCC) XII, an
annual bike ride and fundraising event to support cancer research, Fitzmaurice is pushing his own limits and helping others by sharing his passions.

OFFICE OF GRADUATE PROGRAMS ANNOUNCEMENTS PHSA Upcoming DOCS Fair Join the Public Health Student Association (PHSA) for the South Dade Health Fair that will take place on Saturday, March 5th at Branches United Methodist Church from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wear your green DOCS shirt with scrub pants, and bring your UM ID, N95 mask, stethoscope, and laptop. Breakfast and lunch will be included for all of the volunteers.

ASPPH Annual Meeting Student Poster Session The Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health (ASPPH) is hosting a student poster session during the 2022 Annual Meeting that will be held on March 22 – 24. All topics will be considered and submissions focused on student-led academic and community partnerships to address critical public health challenges are encouraged. The deadline for submissions is Friday, February 25th at 11:59 p.m. PT.

Intervene Upstream – Professional Development Opportunities Intervene Upstream is an online publication that is led by public health graduate students, which publishes
graduate student writing on a myriad of public health topics. Intervene Upstream is currently accepting submissions related to "Burnout during the pandemic," as well as submissions on any relevant topic of your choice. The publication also has a few new staff openings available, including Public Health Communications Manager, Outreach Manager, and Staff Artist.
