THE HISTORY OF HOLY KAABA (PART 2)
For twenty-three years, the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) spread the message of Tawheed [accurate monotheism], the similar message that Hazrat Ibraheem (AS) and all the other Prophets came with and established the law of ALLAH Almighty upon the land. He expended each and every possible effort into making the word of ALLAH Almighty supreme and his victory over untruth and falsehood culminated in the smashing of the idols inside the Holy Kaaba which once again became the universal centre for the worshippers of the one and the only real God, ALLAH Almighty. Not only did the Prophet (PBUH) rid the Holy Kaaba of all its impurities, but he also reinstated all the rituals and rites of Hajj which were established by ALLAH’S Permission, in the time of Hazrat Ibraheem (AS) Specific injunctions in the Holy Quran were revealed in order to eliminate all the wrong and false rites which had become out of control in the pre-Islamic period. All shameful and indecent acts were strictly banned in ALLAH’S statement:
Verse 2:197 of Holy Quran; Hajj is [during] well-known months, so whoever has made Hajj obligatory upon himself therein [by entering the state of ihram], there is [to be for him] no sexual relations and no disobedience and no disputing during Hajj. And whatever good you do - ALLAH knows it. And take provisions, but indeed, the best provision is fear of ALLAH. And fear Me, O you of understanding. Competitions among poets in the exaltations of their tribesmen’s’ achievements and forefathers were all stopped. Instead, ALLAH Almighty told them: Verse 2:200 of Holy Quran; And when you have completed your rites, remember ALLAH like your [previous] remembrance of your fathers or with [much] greater remembrance. And among the people is he who says, "Our Lord, give us in this world," and he will have in the Hereafter no share. Competitions in kindness were also prohibited. Of course, the feeding of the poor and needy pilgrims was still encouraged as this was done in the time of Hazrat Ibraheem (AS) but ALLAH Almighty commanded that the Qurbani or slaughtering of the animals which was done for this reason must be done seeking the pleasure of ALLAH Almighty rather than fame and the admire of the people. Verse 22:36 of Holy Quran; And the camels and cattle We have appointed for you as among the symbols of Allah ; for you therein is good. So mention the name of Allah upon them when lined up [for sacrifice]; and when they are [lifeless] on their sides, then eat from them and feed the needy and the beggar. Thus have We subjected them to you that you may be grateful. As for the terrible practice of spattering blood and flesh of the sacrificed animals on the walls of the Holy Kaaba and hanging their flesh on alters, then ALLAH clearly informed them that in Verse 22:37; Their meat will not reach ALLAH, nor will their blood, but what reaches Him is piety from you. Thus have We subjected them to you that you may glorify ALLAH for that [to] which He has guided you; and give good tidings to the doers of good.
