The UMS-Wright FOUNDATION
The UMS-Wright Foundation was established to recognize those who include the school in their wills or estate plans. Their gift is an important way to help ensure the future strength of our school and enable them to have an impact on UMS-Wright beyond their lifetimes. We appreciate their foresight and extraordinary generosity.
A planned gift to education is one of the most rewarding gifts a donor can make. Planned gifts for the benefit of UMS-Wright Preparatory School from its alumni, parents, grandparents, and friends will assure continuation of the school’s high level of performance and service, and - directly or indirectly - provide a gift of education to the students of UMS-Wright for many years to come. Such gifts are rewarding in a number of ways: they further the mission of the school; for the beneficiaries they make possible greater cultural and educational advancement; for the benefactor they provide significant tax benefits, but more important, they give the satisfaction that comes from contributing to the future through the advancement of education.
General Endowment - $6,569,974 Tuition Assistance - $841,650 Athletic Endowment - $280,505 Academic Endowment - $2,446,112 Named Scholarship Endowment - $2,677,442 Total - $12,815,683

The Wright Legacy Society
On December 11, 2020; UMS-Wright received a significant bequest from the estate of John Thomas Gwin, Jr., a member of the UMS Class of 1959. Like so many other UMS graduates of this era, Tom Gwin would serve our country with distinction in a branch of the U.S. Military. In Tom Gwin’s case, he served in the Air Force and won numerous awards and commendations, which included the Vietnam Service Medal and the Distinguished Flying Cross. Although his civilian job was that of a commercial pilot, Lt. Colonel Gwin continued to serve in the Air Force Reserves until 1992 and during his time in the reserves, he flew as a Hurricane Hunter. Financially, Tom Gwin has left a permanent legacy for the benefit of future generations of UMS-Wright students with his bequest to the UMS-Wright Foundation. However, he has also left an inspiring example for coming generations through his life as a servant-leader. UMS-Wright wishes to acknowledge his exemplary life in addition to the generosity and kindness he has shown toward our students. His family has been blessed by his life, and UMSWright is proud to have Tom Gwin among its alumni.
