Bachelor of Science in Public Safety Administration // This program is ideal for those who have already worked in the public safety field. UNDERGRADUATE CERTIFICATE: PUBLIC SAFETY EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP The public safety job market is expected to grow by nearly 30 percent by 2025.* The Public Safety Executive Leadership certificate was developed to help meet this demand by equipping you with the most current tools and methods necessary to become an innovative leader in the field. The program consists of five online courses (15 credits total) that can be applied toward a UMGC bachelor’s degree in public safety administration or homeland security.

Digital Forensics and Cyber Investigation // In this program, you’ll examine the foundations of digital forensics and become familiar with industry-standard tools and procedures that are used in conducting forensics investigations related to cybersecurity. You’ll learn how to secure and validate digital evidence, recover and analyze digital artifacts, and present findings in legal settings.
Biotechnology: Biosecurity and Biodefense // This program can help prepare you to use technology to detect, analyze, and respond to biosecurity threats. You’ll study the microbiology and epidemiology of biological agents that are potential threats, identify and propose countermeasures, and develop expertise in response and recovery strategies, as well as policies related to biodefense and biosecurity.
Homeland Security Management // Prepare for a dynamic career protecting critical infrastructure. You’ll learn to perform security risk assessments, manage operational recovery, and develop strategies to protect people, facilities, and critical infrastructure. Coursework covers issues in emergency management, cybersecurity, bioterrorism, energy security, and business management.

Learn how to determine whether a system has been compromised and to identify, preserve, analyze, and present evidence for legal prosecution, administrative proceedings, and business purposes.

Information Technology: Homeland Security Management // This program combines advanced training in IT skills with a homeland security management specialization that can help prepare you to protect critical digital assets. You’ll learn to perform security risk assessments, manage operational recovery, and develop strategies to protect people, facilities, and information-dependent infrastructure.
Management: Homeland Security Management // This program can help prepare you for a leadership role protecting against natural and humanmade threats to U.S. security. You’ll gain practical managerial skills in performing security risk assessments; planning for and managing operational recovery; and developing strategies to protect people, facilities, and critical infrastructure.
Management: Criminal Justice Management // This program was developed to prepare you to manage large teams, departments, and bureaus effectively across the criminal justice profession. You’ll gain advanced knowledge of crime prevention, law enforcement, investigative forensics, and crisis management—as well as skills in business management.
Management: Intelligence Management // This program helps prepare you to take on management roles in intelligence collection, analysis, counterintelligence, counterterrorism, cyber intelligence and espionage, and intelligence policy and oversight for national security and law enforcement. Coursework is designed to provide an understanding of the intelligence community and interagency collaboration.
Management: Emergency Management // In this program, you can gain practical skills in security risk assessments; planning and managing prevention, deterrence, protection, response, and operational recovery; and developing strategies to secure people and critical assets from natural or human-made threats.
